The only other options are sign a similar elite from outside Memphis OR develop a non local player that produces like an elite - i..e. - miss on Jeffries and Chandler but have Nickelberry playing like a 1st team AA while ALSO winning big, or big enough.

Can't only have Nickelberry and go say 21-11 while Jeffries is at Kentucky going 32-4 and Chandler is at say Arkansas going 28-6...or anything similar to that.

If you make the choice on outside guys only, then you better be able to produce on the court like the places they go.

Memphis fans known their local players and are aware of what is going on.

Tubby is recruiting the Memphis kids hard. Staff members are all over them. They were at Tyler Harris' game last night. They were also the first school to call him when coaches were allowed to contact players. I don't see or believe that Tubby will choose not to go hard after local kids and just recruit outside of Memphis.

Tubby is a very nice fit for Memphis Kids who are great athletes but often lack basketball fundamentals which is one of Tubby's strength. Tubby will be able to coach up Memphis kids in a way Josh Pastner couldn't.

Tubby vacated BIGXII for Memphis.....That speaks volumes, that were are on the cusp of considered Blue chip program and the rich Memphis recruiting pool has a BIG role in that...So many programs that do well have a player(s) on the team that are from Memphis! Tubby is a perfect leader of this program right now and barring any health issues could be for sometime. If Tubby's fire stays lit...watchout, whenever Memphis begins to show in these tournys on a consistent basis and the roster gets called when we're on the major stage (sweet 16) on in, and player after player gets announced,"from Memphis".... We will be right back there again. The Nation will notice, as we are almost NEVER the least talented team on the floor....but exactly as previously stated Memphis players lack fundamental basketball acumen, But now WE HAVE A COACH that can get us over this MAJOR hump as long as his fire stays lit....

Maybe Tubby did attempt a "bogey" on his first year as Memphis head coach....but the talent here won't allow that to happen!!! We may be depleted; We may have to play 40 minutes; We can't shoot foul shots; We don't have a center; We don;t have a true pg;We don't set good picks; We don't ALWAYS boxout!!! BUT WE CAN HOOP!!!!! MEMPHIS
