Every time one of them hit one, I was jealous because we don't have someone like that. I am afraid to say the Big South game was much more enjoyable to watch. If Campbell and Winthrop can recruit really good three point shooters, why can't ODU? (I know we have Hueitt coming in next year).
We would beat both those teams. You cant just assemble a bunch of one dimensional 3 point shooters.
How about one?
Exactly!!

Winthrop beat Illinois earlier this year, their Kenpom rating is 131 compared to ODU at 133, they would surely have a great chance to win if we played them.

Kah and Carver combined for like 4 minutes. The only reason Vassor sees the court is that Stith is injured.
Caver was bad and the defense struggled (bracey is a really good player too). But they also hit everything. Happens, but have to tighten up
My god you are such a joke.

Just like we beat W&M at home right? We would not beat Winthrop this year.....we've barely beat anyone worth a damn. You have no idea what the hell you are talking about half the time which makes your super opinionated arguments even more absurd.
This team sucks. We won't even finish top 4 in a horrendous cusa. Our coach sucks. No adjustments whatsoever today on offense or defense against a 200+ rpi team.
It's time for a change because this isn't even remotely good enough.

What kind of change are you referring to? If you mean a coaching change, I think our situation would have to be much more extreme to make a coaching change in the middle of the season. If you mean something else, then please explain what kind of change will help this team that sucks.

+1 indeed!
To counter his statement, we also can't just assemble a bunch of defenders if we are going to expect more than what we are seeing.

This is pathetic. Jones deserves a hot seat.

Selig hired Jones. Jones hired Stith who brought in his underachieving sons from ECU and UVA. Nothing will change for another 2 seasons so enjoy the ride guys.

Judging by the 7 page game thread the rest of the fanbase in checking out as well which is extremely predictable given how ugly and unwatchable this team is.

That was some weak sauce yesterday. Pretty much summed up by one play. A guard makes a nice, zippy, bullet entry pass to Trey Porter. Right to his hands. Only problem it goes right through his hands, hits him in the face, he falls to the ground, try's to get up,falls again, La. tech is off to the races. We start to make the tiniest move, BJ a great, great foul shooter goes to the line, misses both chances. That kinda of day all around. Welcome to suck kinda game from the first play onward. Our team simply didn't show up. The aren't good enough to do that against anyone. Very weak performance.

Making a coaching change now would put the first two shooting recruits that we have had since Mark Poag at risk. Not sure I want to do that. But it's sad watching programs like Marshall, UNCW, and W&M pass us during JJ'S time here.
If we don't get to the NCAA's next year, we need a change. 5 years is long enough.

Bad games happen. But we've seen too many of those this year. We struggled to beat Dartmouth, Howard, and North Texas at home and lost to W&M and Marshall.
When you have that many suck games, maybe it's the rule and not the exception.

35, luckily I missed those other games! I saw yesterday's debacle live. A waste of two hours.

I've seen them all either in person or streaming. We thought they may have turned a corner on the road last week, but back to suck this week.

You really need to attend games before making the assertion that the fan base is "checking out". That has not (at least not yet) happened. The worst that I can say so far about our fans this season is that a higher than normal percentage got up to leave at the under-4 break in the second half. Not good. But not the same as saying that a fan base is "checking out".
Thread page counts are a sampling of somewhere between 50-75 fans. To state the obvious, that is not the same thing as the fan base.
Aside from that, the rest of the criticism that is being directed to this team and its coaching staff is fair -- other than I am not sure what kind of destructive mind set wants to lobby for coaching changes in the middle of a season that can still yet turn around.

Edit: "... under-4 break in the second half."

I either go to the game or I won't see it. Don't watch much sports online or TV. I've got a great wife, would rather spend time doing stuff with her. Plus our Monarch group has kinda split up after all the years together with folks moving here and there. And one remaining member says we suck and has only been to one game this year. Not as much fun as the ole days for sure. Been going to Monarch games since the 1970's, when I saw Dave Twardzik play and thought he was the best player I had ever seen in my life! (Besides Wilt) I'll be at as many as possible the remainder of the year, hopefully.

I have been a loyal fan since the early 1970's and have witnessed the good, the bad, and the ugly over those 45+ years. This years team, for all of it's preseason hype, is a combination of all all 3...mostly ugly. I believe that Jeff has over promised and under delivered with this squad. As some have said, there is a good deal of the season left to be played and I will continue to support our team...however, I'm tired of this brand of basketball.
