RE: Before the wins came, there was the excitement.
I think we, myself included, are overthinking this. Yes PJ did a phenomenal job and generated excitement for the program and got phenomenal recruits in our pipeline. PJ showed us what we are capable of (it was about time.....)
But Lester can only be himself – it's not possible to fake it. Keep the things that we have done well, tweak others. If we can recruit and develop NFL caliber offense linemen (Chukes, Kennoy, etc) to create gaping holes, dominate time of possession, and close out games- we are going to be just fine. We must maintain our "physicality" up front. that's really what separated us from the other MAC teams this year – not our slogans mantras, head coach, or play-calling.
If we avoid a reversion back to soft ball we will be just fine.

Quote: Lester can only be himself
That's true and there is no one path to winning. Lester can't be PJ Fleck, it's not his personality. It would only come off as contrived if he attempted to do that.
BUT, Lester can and should project an image of 'winning is EXPECTED!'. We should go into each season with the expectation that we're going to win the MAC. It should be an upset and a surprise when we lose to another MAC program. We should expect to win 2-3 of our 4 OOC games as well. And we should expect to recruit better than any other MAC program and to go to a good Bowl game.
Those are reasonable expectations. It'll take a lot of work but the monetary prize is there as we've seen. No more 'settling'.
