Speculating on Lester's staff
Some Purdue people have pondered whether or not Lester will bring Gerad Parker with him to WMU. Parker was Purdue's WR coach, but was tabbed to be the interim guy after Hazell was let go. Could be a good fit.

Parker was the guy who recruited WR CJ Hayes to Purdue. Hayes is a guy from Kentucky that the previous staff wanted bad.

Jake is pretty happy at Air Force and his family love the area. It'd be tough for him to leave. Besides, he's been mainly a sector coach with limited OC experience.

Jake will be the OC coach. Not that he has any qualifications to do so, but he "bleeds Brown and Gold" so therefore that qualifies him for a position on this staff, according to many on this board.

Bringing in a bunch of buddies would be a bad idea. Bring in the people who are most qualified to carry out your plan and vision. Friends have a tendency to take things for granted.

Absolutely agree. If Tim Lester does what he has done in the past, this program is going to be Mid-MAC within 2 years. We all learned something the past 4 years, Lester has to learn as well. The bar has been set much higher.

Sounds like Jeff Thorne, the current head coach of D3 North Central College is going to be QB coach.

That wouldn't be a bad hire for a positional coach...

Looking about Thorne I think that would be a great first addition.

The bar is high, trust me. His contract along shows that.

But.... didn't PJ bring in a bunch of his friends when he got hired?

Thorne would seem to be a good hire. HC of a 11-1 team.

I am wondering with the hiring of a QB coach if Lester and Thorne are going to run the offense?

I have great faith in his ability to hire amazing people. Just look at the wife he picked - naturally beautiful, sweet, intelligent; a supportive spouse who doesn't feel the need to be in the spotlight. Refreshing.
