The reality is, under Creighton, EMU is a great place to play football lately. Our attendance will keep improving as we build upon a successful season and enthusiasm increases with next season's expectations. After our California Bowl win in 1987, coach Harkema retired a couple seasons later. Then we had bad hire after bad hire by selecting P5 coordinators with no experience. As you can see that was a disaster!!!!! Fleck had much success without being a head coach but he's an anomaly and not the standard. Lester has head coaching experience so I give Beauregard credit for selecting him over Wheatley.

At any rate, I do expect EMU to win atleast 8 games next season and you're right Creighton will probably get a better job. Hopefully our AD, Heather Lyke is still in place to hire a new coach with HC experience. The new coach will start out much better than Creighton and hopefully keep building a winning tradition.

Be humble WMU, you're one bad hire to undoing a lot of great things Fleck accomplished.

Let's not ignore the huge challenge based on simple location and type of school (commuter) that EMU is faced with. WMU has some of the same issues but at EMU it's in overdrive. I don't dislike EMU for any reason and in fact I hope their program stays strong but continued success there is going to be extremely difficult.

More like 6 or 7 regular season wins. Losses to UK(away), NIU(away), UT(away), WMU, and 1 MAC East opponent. Army and Rutgers are also on the road.
