Another UM blog reporting it is a done deal, but I don't buy that. I'm guessing he's coming in for an interview, but who knows....

A lot on twitter commenting on this. It is a classy move to tell your players before it comes out in the public (unlike some coaches). would be happy with this choice.

That's good luck on "getting the job".

One saying Losing Tyrone Wheatley hurts -- it's first response is "you do realize he hasn't gotten the job yet right?" (replied with "You do realize you can eat sh!t right?")

And it's spawned from an initial tweet on good luck getting it.... Nothing shows any evidence that there's any inside information on any level that he Did get it. Just De’Veon Smith in an article after midnight wishing him well On getting it.

And with tweets like "ahhh so he didn't get the job yet..."

But you may be referring to a tweet about an hour before the De'Veon wishing him luck, from Wolverine Daily:

"BREAKING: #Michigan running back coach Tyrone Wheatley (@CoachWheat6) will be the next head coach of #WesternMichigan."

Okay, but the responses:

SO in the end, No, I'll bet my anal virginity that he's not hired (at this point at least), and it's jumping the gun at midnight by some folks. :)

WMU is 13-1, defending MAC Champs, and a Top 20 team that just played in the Cotton Bowl.

We don't need some arrogant SOB from Ann Arbor or East Lansing coming to Kalamazoo to rip apart our program and rebuild it "the right way" like Enos did in Mount Pleasant.

We need continuity, not a shake-up.

No Michigan or MSU azz-holes, and no pro-set purists.

Don't fix what ain't broken!

Hopefully the "Western Michigan job" isn't "get Bogan to transfer."

I love rooting against scUM in all sports.

But coaching is a separate thing, and should be treated as such. If we find that a UM guy is a good fit for our program, then so be it. Never liked Mike "little brother" Hart as a player, but our players loved him as RB coach and would've been great had he stuck around.

What he said. I'm not saying TW is your typical AA from Ann Arbor, but he does not have the experience to be a Head Coach at this level. Didn't we learn with Jack Harbaugh and Dan Enos????
