congrats to the winners
Clemson won its first MNC in over 30 years.
Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma, San Diego St., Western Kentucky and Arkansas St. repeated as conference champs. Appalachian St. shared the Sun Belt with Arkansas St. for their first FBS championship. Temple won the AAC for perhaps their first conference championship ever. Penn St. won the Big 10 for the first time since 2008, Washington the Pac 12 for the first time since 2000 and W. Michigan the MAC for the first time since 1988.
ACC had the top ooc record vs. FBS for perhaps the first time ever with their strong bowl performance. Definitely the first time since at least 1993. The SEC had been first 9 of the last 10 years and the SEC or Big 12 had been first the last 13 years. Big 10 was 2nd, SEC 3rd, Pac 12 4th and Big 12 5th.
SEC still tops in the Massey computer composite, but it was close:
SEC 40.58
ACC 42.09
P12 45.68
with the Big 10 at 51.10, Big 12 at 52.42, AAC at 68.62 followed by the independents, MWC, SBC, MAC and CUSA.
