It could be a good core going forward:
Enoh
KJ
Nickelberry
Johnson
Clergeot

RE: Jamal Johnson
from AL.com...
Spain Park sent a clear message with last week’s 52-48 victory over Huffman – last year’s state semifinalist remains a dangerous team.
With 6-foot-11 center Austin Wiley now playing at Auburn a year early, 6-foot-4 Memphis signee Jamal Johnson remains to lead to Jaguars as they seek a second straight trip to the state semifinals...
Johnson tallied 19 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists in last week’s 52-48 victory over the Vikings, the No. 3-ranked team in Class 7A.

Am I the only one concerned that Johnsons High school team is 11-15...
That doesn't scream a team with a solid DI talent on its roster...Anyone know why his team is performing so poorly.

I think they lost their big man who may have went to a prep school. He is going to a major D1 school. I don't know his name or where he's going, but if they had the big kid they would be really good. Sorry I don't have specifics.

Big guy graduated in 2016 if I remember right...But still you wouldn't expect a team in Alabama with a DI player on it to struggle this mightily.
Cant find his stats though...He may be a one man show.

I wouldn't be concerned for Johnson. Spain Park had two high major guys in Johnson and Willie that lead them deep in Alabama 7A playoff last season. When Willie early enrolled at Auburn, Johnson got burden with all the work. Teams keyed in on him knowing they didn't have to stop Willie too. Johnson still put up great numbers despite that. He just didn't have his right hand man next to him this season.

Thanks for clarifying. I knew that one of their best players left but didn't know specifics. I've never seen Jamal play but I think you're right. He's going to be a good player for us. I hope starting next season.

He's got a chance to really shine if he can step in and contribute, especially if Markel does the grad transfer thing.

Tubby is bringing in character people in this program, that will make up all proud!!!
Spain Park High School SGA members have raised about $7,000 for Make-A-Wish, with time still remaining in the school year.

HOOVER – As a junior last year, basketball star Jamal Johnson proposed “HoopComing” to Spain Park High School Student Government Association Sponsor Candace Strickland, who suggested Johnson run for an SGA position if he wanted to make it happen.
Johnson was elected as a senior representative.
“Everyone loved the idea,” Strickland said.

No he can't.
Historically speaking, that is. No he can't.

Oh if Markel Transfers...He definitely will have a CHANCE
If Markel stays he will likely be a role player as normal with 3 star players on decent teams.

Like you mentioned about KJ (who was a top 60 4*) and not ready to shoulder a load as a Frosh--if you have top 3* 150 guy asked to shoulder any type of load that will be tough.
Ideally, in a Tubby system (like Clergeot) Tubby wants the guy to play 5-6 mpg as a frosh (probably 0 mins in important games) and then 8-12 mins as a Soph and then be ready to be a full rotation guy as a junior.
Having Johnson shoulder a 15-20 minute a game responsibility will be tough, both for him and Memphis. But, it would likely speed up his learning curve provided he's mentally tough enough to take his lumps. I'd imagine based on his pedigree he will.

I am agreeing with you...Just playing on semantics of the word CHANCE...You don't get a chance if there a better proven player in front of you.
