MyBB FS1-Big East Game with 100 in attendance
At a bar and there's a tv tuned to all the sports stations and one caught my eye because it looked like a high school game. The crowd looks to be about 300 people. I'm astonished to say the network is FS1, the game is Providence at DePaul. 300 people max. Turn right now and see, I've never seen two so called "majors" play with less than 1,000 fans. Incredible.
Cheers!

I was wrong. Official attendance was 100. Not 300.

DePaul is building a brand new arena downtown near McComark Center.

Hopefully that will help attendance.

How big is the arena they are playing in now? Lots of open seats.
Cheers!

Watch Texas vs. UCLA in Houston a couple of years ago. I remember it looking like there were *maybe* 20 people in the stands.

They play in an off-campus arena that seats 17K. Problem with the new arena that seats 10K is that it's still far from campus, it's just located closer to downtown instead of the suburbs near the airport. IIRC, DePaul is in the expensive Lincoln Park neighborhood, making it very difficult to get the land necessary for a new arena.

I remember a couple of games in 2013(?), where RU had an announced attendance if less than a thousand. I think one was 700 and change, and another was 300 and change.

But to be far to RU, I'm pretty sure they were playing nobody trans, and it was over Christmas break.

Sad to look back to when Depaul was annually a Major force in NCAA Men's Basketball and to see it today. Not sure if it can ever return to those glory days.

Chicago. Week night. Late start. Bad weather. TV game. Both teams near bottom of BE standings.

If you want fans to go to a college game in Chicago you better have a top-10 team. And you better sell beer.

RE: FS1-BE game with 300 people max
Did some googling. Wikipedia gives the announced attendance as 100. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016%E2%80...tball_team

Chicago was under a HIgh Wind Warning. Power knocked out to 16000, 30 mph sustained winds, gusts up to 60 mph, 327 flights cancelled, many delayed (average of 15 minutes, which doesn't sound like much to me.)

OTOH, it didn't keep 22000 Chicagoans from going to the United Center to see the Blackhawks play Detroit. (wikipedia) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016%E2%80...lar_season

You do realize ECU does better than Rutgers in basketball attendence with terrible opponents compared to all the basketball giants you get to host. Maybe you didn't realize that...now you know.

Cheers!

Johnbragg, Mu88 says there was 4,461 in attendence last night. I watched it. I guessed 300. You said Wikipedia says 100. I think me and you are closer to the truth. Anyone else see it on tv or better yet, at the game?
Cheers!
