Jerseys to be auctioned?
With the re-branding of the James Madison brand, do we redo the jerseys for next year? "Madison" and the "M" is utilized in the white and purple jerseys, and I believe the black jersey as well. I actually like the jerseys we have but would think they would redo it in lieu of the new brand rework.
If this is true, do they auction the jerseys, especially the championship game jerseys with the Championship Game patches? I think that would be a nice little fundraiser toward getting the new jerseys we would need OR put it toward the field redo... (need to replace the endzone from "Madison" to "James Madison" and the Duke Dog at midfield is also currently out of compliance.

RE: Jerseys to be auctioned?
I could be wrong here, but I would venture to guess that the revenue generated from a jersey auction would only cover a fraction of a new set of jerseys.
Its not uncommon for small patches to be used to cover up brand marks, or other.
An auction would be awesome if the squad is due for a new set of unis, but I dont think the rebrand will necessarily mandate this.
While on the topic of jerseys...has anyone else noticed that the shade of purple on the body of the purple jersey is a different (lighter) shade than on the arms?
Does anyone else think we have seen the last of the old gold helmets for awhile?

How long have you had me on ignore?!? Just kidding, but I have posted about that a few times leading up to the title game.
And I hope we don't ditch the gold helmet. We just need the new JMU logo on there. And I hope we start using the new JMU logo on the other color helmets too.

Sorry Hyper, I noticed it earlier in the year, but never got around to posting. I just don't follow as closely as I did back in the day.

Nah you're fine. I'm just giving you crap. I hope they auction some jerseys. Seems like a worthwhile fundraiser.

My understanding is they are letting the players keep their jerseys. Nice gesture.

That would be the right thing to do, but selfishly, I wish they'd auction some!

Does JMU have to buy new unis? Anyone know the terms of JMU's deal with Nike? A lot of schools get the unis for free, and some of the FBS schools get lots of cash on top of that.

I would have to guess the only schools that get the completely free unis are the typical P5 powerhouses (Alabama, Clemson, Oregon, etc.) . While I'm sure Nike incentivizes schools like JMU with gear here and there, the majority of the uniform costs are paid directly by the athletic program.

The P5 powerhouses get the unis free plus millions in other product and cash money! Rutgers (nowhere close to being a powerhouse) had a deal with Nike worth $5.2 million, which included unis for all varsity sports plus $130k in cash per year, back when RU was in the lowly Big East/AAC. They're expecting a lot more in the next deal, based on being in the Big Ten now. Cal is getting $3.5 million/year from Nike. Ohio State is in the 2nd year of a 15 year deal worth $252 million in product/cash. It's just obscene at that level.
At the FCS level, I've not seen many data points. I only know SDSU has a deal with UA that covers practice and game unis for all varsity sports, but no added cash. Don't know what other FCS schools have as the terms of their contracts with suppliers. If we don't already, let's get a deal similar to that when our current contract with Nike expires.
