Did not see that coming. So now we need a QB coach in addition to a DC, Safeties, and CB coach. Wow.

3 years too late, but never late than never (I guess).

Good. Nothing personal, but I never saw evidence that any of the QB's developed significantly under his tutelage and it is certainly time for new blood on the coaching staff after very little changeover the past few seasons (with decreasing results).

Thank goodness for small favors (although many years too late).

Regardless of the behind the scenes maneuvering resulting in all of these coordinator and position coach changes, we may see a different approach on both sides of the ball next season.
That can't be a bad thing, considering our anemic "performance" in the past 2 or three seasons

I actually talk to Edmonson last year that he was leaving but I guess contract terms caused him to hang around.

I think one problem with the staff has been too many older guys running out the string.

I'd like to see the staff get younger. I'd like to see some high school coaches with recruiting contacts, and I'd like to see somebody with Rice connections who understands some of the unique aspects of the program.

It can always get worse, but let's hope for the better.

Maybe Jake Spavital who was OC for Sonny Dykes at Cal would take the co-OC job and his brother is DB coach at Texas Tech...maybe a two-fer and make him the DC...

A defensive coach from Texas Tech might be the one place that would be a downgrade for us....

Jake interviewed for the Cal head coach position on Tuesday. One would think he'd be available if he was not chosen.

Underused since his Freshman year, despite having the highest yards per catch average on the team.

Appears he is transferring to New Mexico Highlands, which is odd given that he only has one year of eligibility remaining. Makes you think that there is something more to this story..
