The proverbial spring board game, grab this one, go 3-1, and then you get a homestand where you can really get out to a nice start.

Right, this is a huge boost to the Huskies who started out the conference play in lackluster fashion. 2-2 was my hopes for the start of conference play, 3-1 is a dream start

If they can get Wilson going they would really be looking like the team many expected. German is starting to get his game figured out. German, Wilson and Bradley could provide some nice offense off the bench.

At this point in the season, you kind of are what you are, and it seems NIU does not have a star (like Baker last year) that can carry them most games, they have potential in about 8 guys, but they all have the ability to be terrible on offense every other game (see highsmith and armstead, STOP SHOOTING, tonight).

Keep playing good defense, try and move the ball a little bit better for more open shots, and hope for the best.

Any W is a good W for the basketball Huskies. Maybe we can build off of this.

Awesome win. Someone tell Armstead to stop shooting. It's like watching return guys in the NFL bring kickoffs out from 5 yards deep in the end zone. You know it won't end well but they just insist on doing it over and over and over again. He has the 2nd most attempts on the team and is now shooting 32.2% as a senior in college basketball. Stop it.

RE: NIU @ Kent St
If we can get armstead to just attack the basket and dish off that as opposed to his outside shooting his defense is pretty good and he can be an asset - in current structure he creates to much inefficiency on offense so his defensive skills sort of get offset, create a possession lose a possession

the team is evolving quickly right now

they dont quit playing hard which is big, they have great fight in them

just for a second, consider that maybe Porter has had his moment, his awakening, and a lot becomes possible

Im not advocating it as fact, just maybe its possible - his last 2 games are outstanding - cant take that from him

Appears that a really nice turnaround has happened for the women. 2 years into a new coach.

Maybe they should let Lisa coach the men too.

At her press conference coach Carlson said this isn't a rebuild we have some talent here. Also, women bball players don't transfer out like the men do. I believe all of Cathy Bennetts girls stayed at NIU.

Didn't the women's team have lots of injuries under Bennet. May not have been all her fault. Maybe now they are mostly healthy and have experience under their belts? I don't follow the program enough to know but just food for thought.

The women's team had lots of injuries two years ago and last year. They are currently the second best team in MAC. Huskies and CMU are currently top two teams.[/align]
