Why would Minnesota agree to that?

RE: Schedule a Home and Home with Minnesota
I don't think that will happen. Minnesota was on their way up, and at worst, Minnesota in their first year under Fleck will be a little inconsistent, plateau, etc... but then go back to going up ... however, how Much further they Can go, remains to be seen.
I don't think you could take any team from the MAC, especially after losing key seniors & their start coach -- and expect to blow them out of the water, let alone back to back. :)

Neither side would agree to that, especially us. I don't think we'll be seeing Minnie on our schedule for years.
Our basketball coach blacklisted U of Detroit for years due to poaching our players. Despite a boatload of appreciation for what Fleck's done here (pun semi-intended), the abnormally brazen pillaging of our recruits will nix any thought of games with Minn in the foreseeable future.

Let Middle Tennesee beat them next year. Good enough for me. At Oregon St the week before isn't a gimme for a program like Minny

When Randy Walker left Miami for Northwestern, he was quoted saying he was leaving more talent in Oxford than he was inheriting in Evanston.
The same could be said for Fleck's situation in Minneapolis. WMU is a better football team than Minny. But that's why Minny is giving Fleck big $. That's why Walker got big $ from NU. Why Cappers got big $ from 'Cuse. Why Kelly and Jones got big $ from Cincy. Why Meyer got big $ from Utah. Why Harbaugh got big $ from Stanford. Why Hoke got big $ from San Diego State. Why Pinkel got big $ from Mizzu. Why Campell got big $ from Iowa State...I could go on and on just by including NIU coaches.
Going back 10 years, almost every team that won the MAC Championship Game lost its coach within a year or two because of big $.
Like him or not, Fleck got results in Kalamazoo and won a championship which his predecessor was NEVER going to accomplish, regardless of the resources provided.
I won't miss "RTB" and some of the other nonsense, but deeply appreciate the Championship.
Football teams play for championships, not meager 7-6 records, or 0-5 losing streaks to their rival. You can call Fleck a lot of bad names, but calling him "Champion" out weighs them all.

I dont think there is a fan on this board thats upset with his results on the field and in the community... He woke up the dormant BRONCO NATION that roared into Dallas... For that I am sure everyone is appreciative...
Problem is how he basically back tracked on nearly his entire mantra of family, respect, appreciation and loyalty.... He basically left in the night... threw a note on the table as he left... and then snuck back into the house while we were away and robbed us blind of anything he helped pick out...

I do not like it any more than you do, but that is the Mode of Operation for coaches moving on. Everyone of the coaches listed above did the same thing and so did Dantonio (even worse) when he left Cincy.
Until the NCAA cracks down, things will not change. Fleck is doing what coaches do. It stinks, but the NCAA just looks the other way.

As a fan base... this is the first time we've lost a coach like this... So I guess its a learning experience... Ironic that Flecks last "never" was being the "never" had a coach move on to a P5...

Touche!
You got that right, unfortunately.
I am looking forward to who KB is going to hire. Hopefully, it will be someone who fully appreciates and respects what THE PLAYERS accomplished last season. We don't need some prick to rip-apart what went 13-1 and won a championship. They are not inheriting a sinking ship, or chronic mediocrity.

RE: Schedule a Home and Home with Minnesota
With the B1G now playing nine conference games, Minnesota's nonconference schedule is booked through 2020.
FWIW, even if a hypothetical home-and-home was negotiated for sometime in the early 2020s in exchange for RTB rights, P.J. (whether he does really well or really poorly at Minnesota) would likely be long gone before we'd take on the Gophers.
