FTR, The Longhorn Band from the University of Texas at Austin performed during the pregame festivities. Later, country music singer Charley Pride sang the national anthem.

The halftime show also featured the Longhorn Band and The "high-kicking high school drill team" Westchester Wranglerettes ... along with Judy Mallett, Miss Texas 1973, playing the fiddle, in a tribute to American music titled "A Musical America".

Here's another view of the entertainment: https://books.google.com/books?id=O8qZ9L...&lpg=PA127

(Alas, the Wranglerettes are no more.)
