In the ultimate kiss of death, UAB is projected to win the next 10 games...not beyond the realm of possibility, but still...

If we win the next two games I'll regain some hope for this season.

RE: Current RPI
UAB can only get to the dance by winning the conference tournament.

Everything else is ok to look at, but it is only the difference between a 13 seed and a 15 seed.

I agree about the CUSA tourney, but with the talent, experience, and depth returning this season, it should absolutely be our goal to win the CUSA regular season. Even if it matters zero in the grand scheme of things, there's no reason we shouldn't be in the running for the conference regular season crown, even without norton.

We will know exactly where we are after wku and Marshall. Running watts at the point more is a great decision and might be the difference between us fighting for a top four spot and fighting for the league crown.

Its only people here saying the only thing that matters is winning the CUSA tournament. I'm sure the players and the coaches have the regular season as a goal. And they don't consider it meaningless.

RE: Current RPI
The winner of the regular season is meaningful
The winner gets an automatic bid to the NIT
Which may be the only alternative way for a post season
game if we lose a in a CUSA tournament

The NIT is only other tournament I'd be ok with us playing in. Although the players may not care as long as they get to play a few more games.

The regular season is not meaningless to the coaches, the players, the recruits, or the fans (at least it shouldn't be). Anyone saying it is meaningless is missing what is needed for a program to elevate itself.

It's meaningless in terms of getting into the NCAA tournament...

That's what I meant.

It's important to me, and I hope we go out and win both the regular season and the tourney..

Winning both is important to me. It ensures post season. I should not have to point out the obvious for an NCAA bid. I assure you both are important to our coaches and players.
