04-cheers Great kid and a star for us. To small for the N.F.L. and not enough arm strength. Congrats to him on a GREAT career at W.M.U. First QB to take us to three straight bowl games.

Probably not. We saw him get rattled in big games against Ohio and Wisconsin. Doesn't have the arm strength or ahtleticism to make an impact in the NFL.

I really like Zach. He is a great leader and a great person. Very intelligent both on and off the field. One of the toughest and most confident QBs I've ever seen.

But I just don't think he's got what it takes to compete at the highest level.

He has a bright future no matter the path. One of the few in life who makes those around him better.

I wouldn't say he got rattled. I'd say he was the player that kept us in that game, what with his timely scrambles and clutch throws. One bad pick yes, but the rest of the game he was a rock against all that wisconsin pressure.

16 of 28, 157 yards. 1 TD, 1 INT. Made some good plays, made some bad. Nothing that special.

I will say that cricumstances may be fortunate for him. This is a weak year for QBs in the draft and he may garner some attention. If he gets picked up by the right team, he could contribute at the next level.

Has any WMU quarterback ever exceeded in the NFL? I'm not aware of any that have.

No but it's not unheard of for MAC players (see Ben Roethlisberger obviously, but he's just an entirely different animal)

I seem to remember that Tim Lester had some strange hitch in his delivery that turned off the NFL scouts.

Yes, he goes to a NFL camp. You never know, the scouts don't know either just guessing. Look at he QBS drafted ahead of Prescott - Cook, Penn State guy... Mànziel and Blake Bortles over Carr.

I agree with this assessment. He had about 3 seconds or less to throw the entire game. He didn't want to take a sack in the end zone so he threw to his first read and it was wrong. At that point we were running the ball effectively and would've like to see us not throw on 1st down from our 3. I also don't think he has the arm strength for the next level. Hasn't had big enough performances vs the few great defenses he's played. He has a bright future with whatever he does.

Nope. He was a good college QB and decision maker but his physical attributes will force him to work outside of football. If he had Brogan Roback's physical attributes, I would say yes. If Brogan had Zach's decision making skills, Brogan could be an NFL back up.

Charlie Batch EMU
Chad Pennington Marshall
Bryon Leftwich Marshall

Zach Terrell a great decision maker but not on the same plane as the guys mentioned above in terms of physical attributes.

A lot of it is luck, timing and match with coaching staff.

Lack of size, arm strength, mobility ("escapability").

Ed Chlebek had a cup of coffee with NY Jets before they drafted some guy named Namath.

Few years later Ed was one of main figures in a SI article on Minor League Football.
