Does your school charge for attending FB signing day?
I thought this was a bit odd but UTEP is having a signing day luncheon at it's football complex and charging $25 per attendee. Sounds like a lot for a baloney sandwich but what do I know. I guess if a bunch of boosters want to pay then go for it.

I've never been to a signing day at Tech but I'm almost positive they charge. Somebody has got to pay for the fried catfish and jambalaya and trimmings. It's during the work day and I can never attend but from the invitations I've received I'm almost certain you have to pay for the food. No way UTEP serves baloney sandwiches. I would imagine some tasty Tex-Mex would be served.

I used to go. It was $15 per person at the time. I haven't been in a few years so it may cost more now.

At Marshall if you are a QB Club member (football booster club) it's $15. They serve some food though and have beer and wine.

Charlotte's is fantastic. It's $20 but food (catered meal), drinks (beer and wine) and the entire coaching staff and AD is there. The person who was in charge of the recruitment of the signee shows a short highlight film and talks about recruiting them. It's one of my favorite events of the year.

Ours is after work, think @6 maybe but not 100% sure about that.

We'll probably miss our first one this year, with the date being so close to when our baby is supposed to come home. Otherwise we haven't missed one yet.

What does Middle Tennessee serve? I would imagine some kind of BBQ. Pulled pork and ribs plus the sides? I'm hungry as hell right now! LOL

RE: Does your school charge for attending FB signing day?
Southern Miss usually does three events on signing day. They hit Jackson mid-morning, Hattiesburg at lunch, and the coast in the evening. Sometimes it is at a restaurant like Buffalo Wild Wings and they may have finger foods or you order on your own. When it is in a meeting facility, they charge and have buffet-style finger foods and drinks. There is a charge for the latter. I think the lat one that I attended was about $15.

The AD typically brags on the coaches and introduces them, then the coaches show clips of and talk about the recruits. There are "rosters" of the new signees and various promotional materials on the players. Last year, the attending fans signed a "Letter of Intent" for season tickets, donations, etc., which I thought was a good idea.

I always enjoy these events. As I live in Hattiesburg and work on the coast, sometimes I hit two events. It is a pretty impressive (and I am sure exhausting) feat, as the head coach and AD are at each event. Their voices are always gone and they seem to be operating on zero sleep for several days.

You FAU guys are a piece of work. 03-lmfao You charge your fans more (even though you don't have many, HA!).....you pay your coaches a lot more, you've spent more on your football facilities than perhaps anyone in CUSA......and you still can't win. 03-banghead

If money is truly a difference-maker, then FAU should be football national champs in about 3 years. 07-coffee3

I believe so. I think that this 3 stop tour began while Monken was coach.

Well FAU charged 125 this year and it sold out in a 72 hours....
I just love a fan of a 102 year old football program ripping a fan base of school that has only had full undergrad since 1988 and a football team since 2001.
You guys just expect programs just to pop out 20k fans a week with no history or resent winning. Why can't a program just grow organically?
Congrats you averaged 20k in a winning season with a 90 year head start in alumni.
