Preliminary plans for a 600-room hotel across from the convention center...

Financier plans high-rise hotel in Downtown Memphis

The Sheraton has ~600 rooms. It consists of two towers with a combined total of somewhere around 28 floors.

The article didn't say how many stories the new hotel would have (I may have missed it), but given the size of the lot I'm thinking it will have to go straight up -- maybe 20-25 stories.

There looks to be slightly less than 200 feet between Front on the east and the train tracks on the west.

Cool if it happens especially if the planned investment in the convention center happens.

120k in meeting space isnt that abnormal for a newer big box convention hotel. I helped opened the JW in Indy about 8 years ago...it has 110k. The new JW in Austin has 120k as well.
