Good luck. Wishing you a safe and uneventful trip.

Thanks everyone

How many inches of snow would you all say you have so far?

7 or 8 inches in my part of Norfolk near VB line. Supposed to get another inch or two.

Right at 7" here in SWVA. They were calling for an inch or two a couple of days ago bumped it up to 2-5" on Fri. Shoveled some snow, sled with my daughter, now ready for some BB. Go Monarchs!

Posted on FB by a tackle shop in Cape Charles, ESVA (Rt 13):

Generally, those fellas aren't timid folk. They suggest the ESVA will essentially be closed until Tuesday.

I've pulled two ppl out of snow in VB (Kempsville/Acredale); one fool in a Miata and another in a Altima. I only drove about 3 miles to the in-laws and back (and a stop at 7-11), so can only report what's going on over here. Kville Rd barely looks like its been touched with one lane passable. IR Road is marginally better with 2/3 lanes passable. Zero lanes I would describe as clear. Packed snow, which will freeze tonight if it's not ice already. Corners and parking lot entrances/exits are the worst and that was where I rescued the two souls mentioned above. Never went to I64 or anywhere else.

If it were me, I'd do everything in my power to postpone that trip until Tuesday or later. Your mileage may vary.

ETA: 5 1/2" when I last measured. Might have made it to 6 before it stopped snowing.

Just wanted to say made the round trip safely. Students delivered. Not as bad as I expected the trip to be.
Barely any traffic to deal with. 50 , 13. 64 were in great shape considering. Only had to turn on the 4x4 in the excursion a couple times in certain areas

Glad you made it safely. 64 was mostly decent at 7AM and by the time I came home from Norfolk, around noon, it was all in really good shape. The surface streets are for the most part still pretty tragic, but tiny car and me made it to work and back, with a couple stops on the way home.

Figured hey grab the window squeegee and clean my windows off. Dang thing is frozen solid. They had deluted window cleaner in the bins. Really ! Your kidding me . Freezing Temps water freezes. Regular cleaner doesn't. Had to go in and by Window cleaner and paper towels.

Half the time I grab those things at a gas station it's just dingy water or no liquid at all. Poor customer service but they probably don't care much. After driving to California and back this summer I found its pretty universal.

glad you made it here and back. I missed that you had a 4X4, but I'm surprised that the roads were in great shape. The same tackle shop had a pick of a VANG [whatever the current equivalent of a deuce-and-a-half is] that was supposedly out helping State Police, talking about 3-4' foot drifts.
