Kennesaw St U is not a HBCU.

If anything Liberty is by far the best choice.

Lol that Tom South Alabama fan is about to get so triggered.

KSU is a public university not a Historical Black College or University. I am sure a few African Americans follow them though.

Kennesaw St is showing promise but I don't think they are ready for the jump and unless someone leaves or the Sunbelt decides to dump UTA and UALR there isn't room for them.

Even without baseball (huge sport in The Belt) UT: Chattanooga is waaaaay more likely to make it into The Sun Belt before KSU.

KSU is just north of Atlanta which is inside the current Sun Belt footprint which makes the travel arrangements for non Football conference teams easier and cheaper.

KSU vs Ga State games would put 40,000 in the seats every year.

I would expect similar attendance for games against Ga Southern.

The USA, Troy have a lot of alumni in Atlanta metro. Not sure about Coastal Carolina alumni numbers in Atlanta.

KSU has about 37,000 students while Liberty has 15,000 students on campus.

KSU is the better social fit for the SBC.

JSU's problem is that there are already two SBC schools in Alabama and is in a rural location like Liberty.

Atlanta > Lynchburg > Jacksonville, Alabama
LOL

Jacksonville State
Kennesaw State
North Alabama
Chattanooga
Eastern Kentucky
Sam Houston State
McNeese State
Central Arkansas

SBC and Southland could do a trade.
SBC could get Central Arkansas while Southland gets Little Rock.
SBC could get Sam Houston State while Southland gets UTA back.

SBC West:
Texas State
Sam Houston State
Central Arkansas
Arkansas State
La.-Lafayette
La.-Monroe

SBC East:
Coastal Carolina
South Alabama
Troy
Appalachian State
Georgia State
Georgia Southern

Future candidates:
West:
UTRGV
Missouri State
McNeese State
Central Oklahoma
Lamar
SFA
Wichita State
Midwestern State
West Texas A&M
New Mexico State

East:
Jacksonville State
Jackson State
North Alabama
Chattanooga
Tennessee State
East Tennessee State
Eastern Kentucky
Western Carolina
Liberty
James Madison
Kennesaw State
Mercer
West Florida
Florida Gulf coast
North Florida
Florida A&M

Natural rivals to Appy State, Georgia State, and Georgia Southern.. Beautiful campus, success in all sports, on campus football stadium. Kennesaw State has huge, huge upside.
Natural rivals? A lot of people who don't live in Georgia on this thread. LOL

Support wise they are where GSU was mid 80s. They don't have a mature alumni base. Most of their games had 1/3 to 1^2 empty seats in a 8300 seat stadium.

Yeh, KSU isn't a natural rival of GSU at all, really. GSU is the commuter school of ATL. KSU is the commuter of ATL's burbs. No offense to either, kinda.

But for real. GSU is a bigger and much better school. They'll get where they need to be. KSU might not
