RE: WBB: Toledo at Eastern Michigan game thread
I don't understand the negative comments popping up again. Just checked the team's record is 10 - 3. Half way to a 20 win season. A team with only two seniors and playing everyone in games building depth. Are there aspects of the game that need to be worked on and improved...yes! Working on weak areas are the best way to grow in any aspect of athletics or our lives. I agree that shooting from the field and the free throw line have been off the past few games, but other areas have been positives in those same games. The teams defense, all season, has been great and the rebounding has been good. (Even out rebounded a much taller Notre Dame team.) All teams are going to go through shooting slumps. That is why all coaches strive to have consistent defense and rebounding.
I am glad everyone is sharing their opinions and being true Rocket fans. Go Blue!

What's your dividing line between "negative comments" and almost everything you just posted? I'm truly puzzled what has you concerned about the thread that doesn't also have you concerned about the play?

I guess the difference is what you emphasize - whether the glass is 80% full or 20% empty. So, for example, instead of saying that the Ball State game was the worst basketball we've ever witnessed and that the EMU win was ugly and unimpressive against a weak team, we could say that it's amazing that we almost beat a strong Ball State team despite having an absolutely dreadful shooting day, and that it's impressive that we comfortably won a MAC road game despite having one of our starters out with an injury.
As hwut said, the great thing about strong defense is that it's there every game. Our defense will keep us in games when we shoot poorly. We will beat bad teams and hang with good MAC teams even under the worst of circumstances. When we shoot well, no MAC team will beat us.
