Isn't USF being investigated? If you are going to be reprimanded by the NCAA might as well have a winning program positioned to keep winning!

See SMU!
Usf basketball is cursed. Good riddance to Antigua.

Murray Bartow is pretty decent upgrade over Antigua. Bartow has a 317-238 overall record and he took UAB and ETSU to four (4) NCAA tournaments and three (3) NITs.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murry_Bartow

It is kind of strange that he was just hired as an assistant coach at USF in August 2016 and now he is the HC. So I guess we can assume that the USF administration probably already knew that they were going to fire Antigua and that Bartow was going to be his replacement. So USF might end up smelling like a rose after this move.

Supposedly there are rumblings that there is a standing coach at another program that has his eyes on the USF job. I don't think Bartow is a long term option.

Orlando Antigua was 23-55 (.295) at USF

Jeff Lebo is 108-107 at ECU

My question is why Antigua was at USF at the start of this year.

Including about two dozen wins over non-D1 programs. Hes a bum.

Yes, let's eliminate the non-conference fluff.

Lebo was 27-37 (.422) in C-USA conference games and is 11-28 (.282) in AAC games.

Good point...

Lebo is 11-28 (.282) in AAC games. Antigua was 7-30 (.189)

Ed Conroy was 9-27 (.25) in AAC games when he was let go.

Virtually none. Taggart's buyout will more than pay off the final year of Heath and Holtz.

There is one high-major coach who has rumored to be "the guy" for the USF job since the fall. Will be interesting to see how it goes down

I'm glad to hear that. We needed the change and I'm glad our AD made the move.antigua seems like a nice guy but it just wasn't working out.
