RE: MAC Basketball Week 9, 1/2-1/8
Looking forward to the Kent State @ Ohio match up tonight.

The Flashes are coming off big wins on the road against Texas and in their home opener against Ball State. Should be a fun one in the Convo.

KSU coming in as 6.5 point dogs.

Over the past 10 days, I've forgotten there's something called basketball going on.

(checking our box score against Ohio, probably a good thing)

Got Akron tonight who is currently riding the 3rd longest home winning streak in the country (24 games) so it's not like it will get any easier.

It was an embarrassing performance. Flashes are a real Jekyll/Hyde team this year with a wide disparity between the two. Looks like a .500 team until they gain some consistency, if they ever do.

You are correct. I was thinking it was Toledo, being that the Rockets have beaten the Zips 4 straight, with two of those being in the JAR, but Miami beat Akron 3 days after Toledo's last win/trip to the JAR.

They were the better team. I watched the game and EMU has some individuals with some talent, but not much cohesiveness. Buffalo was the more sound team fundamentally. EMU guys like to make highlight plays, but don't value possessions.

West vs East, Week 1:

after 2 games Toledo is 2-0 vs MAC East, rest of the West is 0-6.

Fundamentally sound? Buffalo looked as sloppy as we did. Not sure which game you watched. They murdered us on the glass and that was the story of the game. Both teams were equally painful to watch, but someone had to win.

I don't believe the UB squad that showed to either Toledo or EMU is very representative of what this team will be. They have basically not slept in their own beds more then 2 nights in a single week for about a month. Surprised they won today, but there is the talent to do much better.

Same story every season. We own the East but rarely go .500 against our side. Split with UB lst season, beat Kent and Akron... probably will be the same story this year. EMU, CMU, and NIU are our bugaboos.

I said MORE sound than EMU. Low bar, for sure, but they played better team defense and turned EMU over effectively.
