Sounds like he is actively recruiting during a dead period. Rule violation?

I imagine it is. Can't punish a Big 10 school, though. Probably WMU will wind up on probation.

No, they can contact recruits via phone or text during the dead period, just no in-home visits is my understanding. I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.

Sucks for us but it is the way the game is played.

Bronco fans, do you have any names on your wish list so far?

No. There was no Plan B. You could tell by the press conference that this was a shock out of left field.

I believe that this was in the works for a while through back channels (his agent). Gave PJ plausible deniability - HE wasn't talking to other parties. The swiftness of his move, the co-incidence that Minnesota fired their coach so quickly after The Cotton Bowl, etc. He wanted to coach in that game. I think that our AD thought we had dodged that bullet and like some of us fans, thought that PJ would be back, at least for another year. I feel that she was blind sided by this one. Plus our AD is battling pneumonia right now so I feel for her having to deal with this now. Critical hire for us and the program.

I'm going to venture to guess that Claeys was fired solely because he supported the players boycotting the Holiday Bowl. Had he stood with the administration on the matter he probably would still be employed. It's also why I don't feel the UM administration would have started talking to Fleck's agent until after that incident occurred.
