Not exactly sure what you are getting at. We know we have a crappy arena. It is better now than it was 5 years ago. Athletics are an afterthought at drexel. Also yes there are that many students but only half of those at best on campus due to running quarters and having students on co-op. In addition to that included in that number are all of your masters students since Drexel is a research institution. For those types of students, athletics will never be a draw. There are legitimate reasons why the Drexel job is a tough job to win at. The fact we have a good mens lacrosse and womens basketball program is a borderline miracle. We had a good run nationally a few years back in womens field hockey too. Drexel is never going to be a sports driven school, and that is ok

I've always respected the Drexel fans. Small arena but they fill it with more fans than Northeastern or Towson. I remember going to Richmond for the CAA tournament for a few years and they by far had the rowdiest fans "pound for pound".

Just never seen this gym before but heard about it. Just surprising to me.

We were really starting to build a solid group from about '08 to '12. We had momentum and a solid group of soon to be alumni and alumni to build off of. The DAC was legitimately a tough place to play and the fans brought it including in Richmond (maybe 100-200 fans only). Then we had 3 straight duds with this being a 4th straight year. That really killed the momentum we were building with our fans. Spiker is doing a good job trying to get students and fans back but it takes time and needs a good product to do so. We are heading back in the right direction but it just takes time, and the momentum we had was lost. Even when rocking Drexel is not going to be a top drawing team in the conference. If we were still drawing at our best we would still only be 3-4K if we could fill as many seat as possible. So as much as a newer nicer arena would be, the 2500 we seat now is not really an awful number realistically for Drexel. If I could have any size arena at Drexel I would choose 5000. Basketball would never fill it, but it would allow more seating for other events like concerts etc.

In the past 5 years they have added the following amenities: Bathrooms on the same level as the arena, seatback chairs in some sections, closed corners, air conditioning, upgraded locker rooms, upgraded concessions other than a rotisserie hot dog maker.

Isn't basketball the premier sport at Drexel? 26,000 students just seems to me they could draw 3-4k accidentally.

Of all the northern schools Drexel is my favorite. Scrappy underdog program with the deck stacked against them. The DAC was always a tough place to play. We all have our down years. No doubt you will turn it around

Lol. At our last home game they had a separate line for hot dogs and people were told they may run out before they get to be served

UNCW is only up 16 points.

I just turned it on. Looks a lot like the Elon game. Playing ok but not great
