You've gotta go Doc. You've got to go...
Thanks but no thanks. He looks like a legit hobo. He sounds like someone who dropped out of school when they were in middle school. He's not what our program needs right now. If we're gonna have a sh!tty program lets at least have a sh!tty program with someone who is young, upbeat, hungry to have success so they can jump ship to a better job (then we rinse/repeat of course). We'll always be a stepping stone job. Let's embrace that. We need to stop hiring people who see us as a school they can coast and ride off into retirement with. And STFU about Tyndall and the mess he left us with. Has anyone here looked at his coaching record at Nebraska (a school that actually has resources!!!). He won about 50% of the games he coached, 101-89 to be exact. His OVERALL conference winning % is 34%!!! He went 34-64 in conference play for the huskers. My lord! Why in the hell did we even interview this man???
It's like what the late comedian Robin Harris said, "Gotta go, gotta go!"

I won't pretend to know all the ins and outs of what's going on.....but it looks bad. Something needs to change.

RE: You've gotta go Doc. You've got to go...
The ins and outs are pretty simple. He's a decent coach. But not the right guy for our program. Tyndall left an absolute disaster. His Point Guard and best big man are both hurt. One hasn't played all year, and the other will miss the rest of the year. We are dealing with the effects of an NCAA investigation and the sanctions that came with it. Our 2 best players are transfers that have to sit out this year. Like I said, Doc isn't the right guy for our program. But he's not some EJ level loser either. He's had horrible luck his whole tenure here and especially this year. With Edwards,Rowe, Davis and maybe Conley back next year, add in the 2 transfers, hopefully sign a decent player this spring, I can squint and see an 18 win type team. If he doesn't, get rid of him. But at this point there's no point talking about it because we can't buy out 3 years, or even 2 for that matter.

Is it too late for Hattiesburg to get an arena football franchise?

We can't afford his buyout (thanks, Bill). Maybe the new AD can somehow convince him to step aside, doubt it though.

You convince him to step aside by getting an AD that shows fire and excites our fanbase enough to donate and get rid of him.

Doc's probably not even the single biggest problem with our basketball program.

RE: You've gotta go Doc. You've got to go...
First off, at Nebraska, Sadler went 6-10 in conference his first year, had another absolutely terrible year (2-14), but otherwise hung around .500 in the Big 12 and made the NIT 3 times. (Remember the NIT? That tournament we went to in 2013 that everybody way more excited about than the NCAAs the year before?) What did in Sadler at Nebraska was another really bad year after (4-14) after they moved into the Big Ten. I doubt his own mom would argue he's a Big Ten-caliber coach, but he did OK in the Big 12. Ultimately, he was good enough to last 6 years at Nebraska.
As to why we hired him instead of going with a young up-and-comer, we had at least significant talks with two of those: the coaches at SFA & La Tech IIRC (I may be wrong on the exact schools). Both said, "Thanks, but no thanks."
Maybe after we dump Sadler, we can get a former National Coach of the Year in here. Then we can complain about him and not attend games all the way up until he takes us to the NCAAs and leaves to everyone's delight. Just like last time.
This place doesn't need another coach as much as it needs a damned psychiatrist.

A psychiatrist or maybe a guy with a whip and a bullhorn to inspire people to actually do their damned jobs.

The head coach at any given time may not even be in the Top 5.

Thats the point. Youre using the facts of him having terrible years in conference play and mentioning how even his mom knows he sux too bad to coach in the big ten , all to defend how good a coach he is for us and shouldn't be fired. Thats clinical, dude.

And using a 6-year stay with 3 NIT appearances at a BCS/P5 conference program to illustrate how terrible he is makes perfect sense?
Sadler's not one of the best handful of NCAA basketball coaches out there. I am not and never did argue that. He could walk out this afternoon as far as my attachment to him goes. That said, my point is he's a far cry from the walking train wreck he's being made out to be, he's nowhere near responsible for all our current ills, and his removal isn't going to suddenly fix everything or even begin to.

Depends on who his replacement is, I guess, but at this point any spare change we find under the couch cushions needs to go toward capital improvements to the Coliseum.

Not doing everything possible to retain LE was borderline insane.
Lots of people in Hattiesburg that know nothing about basketball.
