The ACC has huge ratings.....it needs the $$$$$ to start reflecting that.
Swofford is getting worked at the negotiating table.

As much as I'd like to give credit to the ACC for the big rating, having Michigan matched up against FSU is a big reason for that huge number. Michigan is a blue-blood college football program with a huge fanbase - I think the number would have been quite different if it was FSU vs. Wisconsin, for example.

RE: Orange Bowl big tv rating
When the dust settles, as a group the ACC's bowl games are looking very solid despite overall bowl ratings appearing to be down.
Going into Friday, the Belk Bowl was the most watched bowl game of the season to date, with 4.963 million viewers vs. 3.501 million last year.
The Russell Athletic Bowl, up slightly to 4.252 million vs. 4.202 last year, was the third highest rated game going into Friday.
The Quick Lane Bowl had a major increase to 3.019 million viewers, up from 1.486 million last year.
This year's Orange Bowl has 11.461 million viewers, which destroyed last year's Peach Bowl viewership of 5.604 million. The Peach Bowl was the lead off game of last years NY6. Much of this improvement is certainly attributable to moving from a noon kick to a prime time kick the night before the semis.
Finally, this year's Fiesta had 19.236 million compared to last year's Cotton of 18.522 million.

Nah.....FSU regularly kills it in TV ratings. Year after year. Every school gets a bump against blue bloods, but if you are a blue blood yourself, like FSU is, you ARE the draw.
FSU is the draw. Has been for decades now.

We'll have to agree to disagree here.
For the record, I think it still would have been a very good number for FSU against Wisconsin, and I agree that a large part of that would be due to FSU.
Two blue blood programs matching up in FSU and Michigan puts it over the top.

Not sure we are disagreeing much.
Agree: 2 blue bloods together is better than 1 blue blood.
Disagree: "FSU regularly kills it in TV ratings."
This is a fact. Not an opinion. FSU is regularly a top 10 to top 3 TV ratings draw. Even when it is 'down'.
