So the B1G was the best conference? Hilarious!
B1G is now 2-5 in bowl games, including losses in the Orange and Fiesta Bowls.

All year long, I (and Massey and Sagarin, LOL) tried to tell you that the B1G wasn't the best, they were maybe third or fourth, but all I heard was:

"The B1G has 4 of the 10 best teams, that makes them the best conference !!!!"

Never mind that a conference includes all members, not just the best four.

And never mind that those "best 4" didn't do much OOC to merit the praise. Ohio State got all kinds of credit for beating an Oklahoma team that Houston dusted.

Now two of those "B1G 4" are 0-2 in NY6 games.

Sure, the B1G will win the Cotton, thanks to getting to play the G5 champ (LOL). And Iowa will probably beat Florida, because Florida couldn't score on a high school team. But they've already been exposed.

The B1G wasn't the best conference, remember that next year when their "best 4" are overrated again. 07-coffee3

Shocking effort by Urban Meyer's team... but OSU is due for stinkers in big games like this following a recent title run.

It's been a terrible slate of bowls. I didn't watch more than a quarter to a half of either playoff game.

Made for tv market fiction. It just gets worse every year. Auburn and Troy played Clemson to one touchdown. The Slowhio State gets owned

Pathetic. Thanks ESPN. Haven't watched either of these farce games

Big ten champs PSU should be in the playoffs.

I imagine the ratings will be just as bad as last year. It doesn't help when there is an NFL caliber defense playing college football. Kind of makes the rest of the schools an afterthought. Championship game should still be as solid as last year I hope.

Next time this October when someone talks about how the playoff "must be expanded", point to the these semis, which have been unwatchable dogs 5 out of 6 games thus far. What on earth are #'s 7 and 8 going to bring to the table?

PSU will win 35-34 and people will be like, "SEE! Both USC and PSU should have been in along with WMU!"

That has nothing to do with it. No one has recruiting as good as Alabama and it has shown the last three years.

Washington could have beat Ohio State and Penn State could have beat Washington. A playoff is to pit the best teams against each other, Alabama is just an well oiled machine.

The playoff should be a merit based system.

Step 1: Win your division
Step 2: Win your conference championship
Step 3: Win your playoff game

Putting Ohio State into the playoff when they didn't even win their division was a load of subjective crap.

The CFP obviously likes Ohio State.

Two years ago, their intuition paid off spectacularly. This year, it went spectacularly bust.

The Big Ten has lost its last two playoff games (Ohio State, Michigan State) by a combined score of 69-0.

Michigan has lost 3 of its last four games.

Not all is well with the top teams in the Big Ten.

Yes ... and we can't forget what happened to Iowa in the Rose Bowl last year.

And the B1G's whole claim to being "best" was the alleged "strength" of its top teams. 03-lmfao

How do you know TCU wouldn't have won it all in 2014? I think they were the best team. They didn't get to play.

The point of expanding isn't to make more interesting games. Its to give the teams who have a legitimate claim a shot to prove it on the field.

Who looked better than they were because the bottom of the Big 10 is so bad.

Ohio St. had an off night. But the Big 10 was over-rated.

The thing is, they really weren't, at least not by the computers. Sagarin, Massey, even my rudimentary formula, all had the B1G between #2 - #4, very few had them #1.

It was the human talking heads, mesmerized by 4 teams in the polls top 10, that gushed about the B1G being the best.

FWIW, Clemson didn't beat Pitt either, and they are in the national title game.

So Ohio State shouldn't have gotten credit for beating the Big XII champs on the road? Not neutral site, but in Norman.

Michigan beat the Pac-12 South champs Colorado.
