Well something like 11% of the Heisman ballots came in before the regular season was even over.

Historic numbers are obviously obvious.

What happened to Jackson yesterday is akin to what happened to Leonard Fournette the two times he played Alabama and got stuffed. Fournette got stuffed not because he's not a great talent, he is. But no RB can gain yards when the other team's DL overwhelms their OL. Nobody, not Jim Brown or OJ Simpson either*.

The NFL knows this which is why Fournette is projected as a top pick even though Alabama stuffed him.

Ditto for a QB when they get no blocking.

* OK, Barry Sanders might be the lone exception. The lone exception.

The Louisville Fan base was upset yesterday when Petrino kept him in when the game was out of reach...he was getting killed and even more angry with the OL Coach. LSU defensive talent overwhelmed us...04-cheers

Tebow was the worst. I hate how they still give him credit for the national title florida won when he was a freshman and a back up QB.

Rutgers fans have no authority to label someone the worst.

And the Army fan can? Glass houses guy.

National Championships, Heisman Trophy winners. 07-coffee3

Yeah and Axis powers were still a thing last time either of those happened. Anything of substance since the Cold War started?

I see why the UL fans were upset, but then again, I was rooting for LSU, and i didn't "relax" mentally until UL failed to score in the red zone with about 6 minutes to go. I've seen enough college football to know even a 20 point lead can disappear pretty quick, especially with a team with UL's quick strike abilities.

So I can't really blame a coach for keeping hope alive, even when all seems lost.

Oh I understand where you was coming from...but rewatch the game this morning and if Offensive Line Coach Chris Klenakis isn't gone after signing day to me Petrino has some explaining to do...that Front 5 for Louisville was freaking clueless.

Certainly not Jackson's best game but anyone focusing on Jackson vs the Louisville O line is not looking at the main issue. The O line has been poor for a long time under the current coach who should be fired. No college QB in the country would have even looked average in the Citrus Bowl behind that O line.

LSU Arden Key and Houston Ed Oliver made some $$$ against that Chris Klenakis coached OL...03-banghead

Check your history. Rutgers must be lacking in the history department. Army had Heisman winners in 1946 and 1958. Both were after the Cold War started. And a national title in 1946.

RE: Is Lamar Jackson the most unimpressive Heisman winning passer since Charlie Ward?
I have been following Louisville football for the better part of the last 40 years. This is the most disappointed I have been at the end of a season in years. We have some issues that need to be dealt with this off season chiefly poor offensive line play.

It's going to be a long off season here in Louisville. Someone asked me last summer what we had to do to this season to consider the year a success. I said we had to beat FSU, Clemson or both to take the next step.

We lost to Clemson in the last minute at their place. We beat FSU 63-20 at our place. Clemson and Florida State just put an end to The a Big Ten's post season.

A 9 win season with a Heisman winning quarterback shouldn't feel like a disappointment but this one does.

Well, actually, the B1G has three teams playing tomorrow - Iowa in the Outback Bowl, Penn State in the Rose Bowl, and Wisconsin in the Cotton Bowl. Pretty big games. But I kinda get your point. 07-coffee3
