I hope that he gets his head right, he has talent and can help the team if he chooses to do so.

RE: Porter Back Tomorrow
I'am going to act like I know more than the coaches. Porter should be reinstated as the backup to Thomas. Highsmith and Wilson should split time evenly. I would have German come in for Armstead. Key and Bradley split time evenly. Maric backed up by McCarthy/Key. Pauga gets about 10 minutes a game at various spots. If you decided to keep Porter having him behind Thomas and German does no good! He is better than both of them and must get 20 minutes a game. You can get German 15-16 minutes a game by bringing him in for Armstead. Highsmith and Wilson 20 minutes each should work well for both and team.

It's way more than being about who is better at this point. Porter appears to have really damaged the team morale with his antics and his toxicity has had an impact. Those are incredibly damning statements from Montgomery, really surprised he went as far as he did with those quotes. Makes me think Porter was extremely close to being kicked off the team. I'd bet a very large wager Porter won't last until March. People with narcisstic personalities just do not change unless there is some life altering event. Being suspended for 3 weeks doesn't qualify as that event. As a fan, in my mind he is already off the team. If there came a day he acted like an adult and contributes that would be great, but I'm certainly not expecting it. I'm sick of one person holding a program hostage. We have seen that too many times recently at NIU

RE: Porter Back Tomorrow
It's time to put on the big boy pants as a coach! You had a choice to make, does having him hurt the team or help the team and you decided to keep him. Now move forward with your decision and do what's best for team. Winning is the goal of every team. You either trust him or you don't. Keeping him says that you trust him and if you are unsure then you made the wrong choice to keep him. Be a strong leader and the players will follow. Behind Thomas is where he should be not behind Thomas and German. Now Thomas and especially German are looking over their shoulders. Bring German in for Armstead so that he can relax and not worry about making mistakes and having Porter replace him.

I don't think you can make it any more clear than coach Montgomery did. It's his last chance. Publicly making those comments I think is good in this situation because it lets Porter know it really is his last chance. Porter is talented , but is he talented enough to overcome and offset the damage he has done to the team morale, not even close. No wAy

That's fine if it's his last chance. I personally don't believe that. If he has no problems for rest of this year and late into next year he's late for a meeting I don't believe he's let go.

RE: Porter Back Tomorrow
I think the rotation will work best with Thomas/Porter, Highsmith/Wilson, Armstead/German and Pauga getting 10 minutes subbing different guys. Key/Bradley, Maric/McCarthy-Key.

True, but those are very very very big IFs. I would be willing to bet against the IF.
