well I think the team that is kind of positioned for a big leap in 2017 is quite frankly the U. Miami. schedule is good- OOC with @ Arkansas St(who the hell is the Miami AD with these weird road OOC matchups), Toledo, and Notre Dame. Home conference with Va Tech, Ga Tech, Virginia, and Syracuse. Road conference with Duke, UNC, Pittsburgh, and Florida St. So it would be really easy to see them with a great record next year.

Miami in Jonesboro, AR is an intriguing matchup and I would love to see more of those.

I guess they're missing one more non-conf game? Will they try for a 10th P5?

USC will probably be another team with big expectations. They get Stanford, Utah and UCLA all at home and Washington State and Oregon State in cross divisional matchups. Also an interesting non conference with Western Michigan and Texas in addition to Notre Dame.

South Carolina plays @ECU in 2019 and 2021. Played @UCF in 2013 too (UCF's only loss that season)

Super homer call I think Iowa State will make a CU like jump. Not 9 wins but maybe up to 7 or 8. We have killed it in recruiting for two straight years with pulling in the second best JUCO class this year. Our Offense only loses 1 receiver that wasn't even used a lot and our OL will be better. We don't lose a lot on defense either.

We were in a lot of games that we lost late in the 4th quarter like Oklahoma state, Baylor, and K state. Plus we won't lose to an FCS school. I can't put too much blame on our team then because we were god awful to start the season.

They'll get a lot of hype if they win the Rose Bowl, that would give them a 9-game winning streak, they would be preseason top 10 for sure.

Your jump will be delayed until the AState home and home. AState has a knack of scheduling teams as they are taking off, see Miami 2017.

Miami doesn't have the budget to load up on quality games at home.

Miami is poised to make a big jump, we'll be legit contenders in the MAC East. And The U ought to be pretty good too.

I wish you guys well.

I think that Iowa St and Kansas both made the correct move in their recent hires. That's what I would do as the AD: hire a successful head coach at a lower level.

Doesn't always work, but seems the most logical move to me.
