I know that I have seen things posted here that Harry wrote about very soon after, and it was almost verbatim. That could have been coincidence. Who knows.

Nope he does not.

Because you always seem to have your finger on the pulse of things, I almost always tend to believe your insights. The only thing that holds me back a little this time is that Harry has on numerous occasions in his articles referenced what folks are saying on social media. Each time I have seen one of those references, I could tie what he is saying back to comments on here. All of which leads me to suspect he does at least from time to time read our boards.

Whether he does or not, I really appreciate the hard work he puts in and the info he shares on Monarchs football. I am convinced (admittedly without a lot of supporting data from the other schools) that we have the best football beat writer in the conference.

There was a time two years ago, maybe even three years ago I had started a G5 Top 25 poll. I was fortunate to have many ODU and CUSA fans along with fans that represented 7 different conference. Naturally all 5 of the G5 conferences participated and early on I even had two fans that had connections to CUSA but their schools had become members of the ACC. We also had a few Media member contributors from cities where CUSA Schools were located. I had communicated with Harry by e mail at that time, he informed me he was unable to participate but in our communication he mentioned he would occasionally read the boards, not only ODU's but others and found them informative. With that in mind, I assume that on occasions and he has used the board as a source of information, if the information is found to be reliable and creditable I believe he would use that information to aid him in developing a story to better inform his readers.

We are fortunate to have Harry give ODU the press that is 2nd to no one, especially any other CUSA School/member. I truly appreciate the integral part he has played in ODU's football growth, branding and overall communication that is a constant opportunity to engage more people in the Hampton Roads Area about ODU football.

I am almost certain he stops by. I would say it is almost malpractice for media not to these days. What better way to put your finger on the pulse of what topics the fans are interested in and may want more information on. You also can ensure a good number of clicks if you answer a question that the boards have been searching for since the story will be posted and clicked by most of the community.

CUSA basketball is just awful. The scheduling is terrible.
But since we are 7-5 OOC, it does not matter to us. If we were 11-1, it would matter.
At this point, a weak conference is our best friend. Time to rack up wins while refining our play and rotations.
The season boils down to the CUSAT. And we need a first round bye.

Why so? We are guaranteed an eye-watering #13 seed if we make the tourney. Yikes!

JMU smashes Towson to go 2-0 in conference play. If they keep that up, the conference RPI won't stay high very long.

Harry and Ed M. are very emphatic that they do not read the message boards. That does not however, mean that they do not occasionally listen to messages sent their way by folks that do read the boards. Sometimes they might have their interest pricked by said tales related but most often they do not. Now back to hopefully a Happy New Year for all the true Monarch fans.

I'm confused. Pretty sure Harry has referenced the message boards before, but I could be wrong.
I was thinking this too.

I think I covered what you are mentioning in the highlighted portion (see above) of my previous statement. When things are brought to their attention they find interesting they check it out. That said, I have not taken any court testimony under oath on this topic, so I will let it go with what I have already posted. Hope I have not created any unnecessary confusion.

Wasn't sure where to put this, but UAB gets to pick it's time slot for conference tournament in Birmingham. Thoughts?

Also - the NCAA suspending the 5 UR baseball players is a complete joke.

At some point they'll get around to reviewing UNC but why bother when you can spend so much time going after mid-majors?

I just thank heaven that the NCAA was able to stop W&M from using two feathers as part of their logo. Compared to that horror the trivial stuff (decades of cheating on grades, fake courses, etc.) that happened at UNC will rightly be totally ignored by the NCAA. 05-stirthepot
