Sanford may not be playing out of position after all, considering he was recruited as a point guard and he prefers the point guard position.

Shows a great attitude. I do think he was more effective in the Loyola game, so his PG skills are improving.

I'm not so sure about this? I think it's just a cover up to get some heat off our point guard recruiting busts from this year. Sanford looked like a 2 guard, the moment he stepped on campus. Maybe he did play some point guard in HS, but I'm not believing he came here as a PG.

One reason Juice scored so much AND got so many assists was his ability to penetrate. I don't see that much from Sanford. I get that there aren't many Juices out there but I still see Sanford as a good spot up shooter who would benefit playing off the ball and getting kick-outs from a penetrating PG. We'll see next year when we may have a legit PG coming in. Either way I think Jalen has improved a lot. I'd just hate to see him become the new Ty Kent, forced to squander potential because he has to play a position in which he appears uncomfortable.

I seem to recall Sanford mostly playing the 2 in Evansville. I'll have to dial-up a game and see.

FWIW, Sanford is getting the job done but I sort of like it when our "Point Forward" Steve Taylor Jr brings the ball up the court--its very Magic Johnson/LaBron James-like.

Sanford: sometimes ran point, sometimes defended the point but for no other reason than to see some really good hs b-ball, here's a game Reitz (Sanford's school) against Southport at Southport (7500 in attendance). Reitz went to the state final that year. Love their patients and balance on offense and anticipation on defense.
