Good move for UCONN. You would know that if you knew anything about how he did there in the past. Worry about your own program that is imploding.

It's a good move. Other than Navy with its particular brand of Xs and Os, nobody stays in this conference if they succeed anyways.

Slightly off topic but someone is going to have to explain to me aside from being a complete jack arse why does every fan base cringe at the thought of Schiano? I saw both UCONN and Temple fans just flat out disgusted with the idea of even considering him and as a complete outsider to the area that makes no sense to me.

Can Edsell coach the men's basketball team too?

I agree. Most coaches are Jack arses anyway. He did good things at Rutgers.

He's essentially the only guy who's ever done good things at Rutgers.

It's a fair question. I think the disdain for Rutgers and its fanbase poisoned Schiano for northeast schools and its fan bases. He would have made sense at uconn but the fanbase would have revolted over it based on its history with Rutgers and how much he and the Rutgers fanbase disgusted people up here if you ask me.

No one respects Rutgers when it comes down to it. It's unfair especially how he actually accomplished something in a place that has literally never accomplished anything.

Bottom line no one in the northeast wants the Rutgers stench to touch their program.

They should have brought Skip Holtz back.

I really don't understand this hire. He wasn't great at UConn before and he was terrible at Maryland. Why would they want him back?

Going to be hard to sell to recruits you are all about UConn when you ditched them without uttering a single word to anyone. That is going to be used in recruiting for sure and it is going to make this remarriage a tricky one... Yes Petrino has worked out for Louisville but Louisville was already in a good position football wise, UConn trying to rebuild a program with the person who initially tripped them down the stairs is going to be harder

Connecticut is going to regret this hire. Edsall is not Bobby Petrino (Back to Louisville but a winner).

The president of Rutgers thinks he can pay at the AAC level(UCINN) and hire an inexperienced co-cordinatorof defense from Ohio State(we saw how good that did in 2016;4 shutouts)In order to fix that they hired the x-Minn hc Kill.
