Team is 10-2 - have 4 Memphis kids in the rotation.
Edgar still doing it.

I saw him play in HS and I think he is a special player. Just seemed to have good instincts and looked like a leader on the floor.

My only thoughts are that at Overton he was listed at 5-11, now they say 6-1, and he's really a SG more than anything, but maybe he has point skills?
Also, Eastern Oklahoma's schedule doesn't look all that strong, so he's putting up numbers against weaker JC competition - his 29 ppg prob equates to 19 ppg at someplace like San Jacinto or Miami Dade, etc.

Yeah you're right. I seem to remember him taking the team on his back and having a never-give-up mentality. Kept OHS in a lot of games. But I'm no expert. Just a BB fan and an OHS/UM alumni who tries not to be too much of a homer.

While I think it's interesting discussion, JC stats can be misleading. competition does vary widely (similar to high school) and some coaches will feature a particular player.
There's no doubt this kid can put the ball in the basket, but his game may not translate to D1. Easterwood has said many many times that if you're a 5'11 guard you have to be really really special to make a D1 impact, especially if you have shooting guard skills.
I've never seen him play, it's just a general comment.

Jerry played well against the Lawsons and he can handle the ball well. But I'm just relaying what I saw. And it's just a fans opinion. I'm no bb scout and I'm an admitted homer. I believe their are problems with some of these young men getting into trouble staying in town with their friends. But I love having a lot of local players on our team. Of course they need to be good players.

Wonder if the Lawsons speak highly of him to the staff.
I mean, Keelon has to know his game.

A little post holiday malaise for Hurt until last night.
35 points while shooting 5-8 from 3 and 12-14 from the line.
Adarius Avery was sneaking up on him as far as leading the nation in scoring, but last night put Hurt over a point average at the top...he's now averaging 27.1 nationally.

RE: Jerry Hurt - 6-1 G 2017 Eastern Oklahoma CC/Overton HS
Sophomore Jerry Hurt was named to the men’s NJCAA Region II all-conference first team and sophomore Jasmine Williams was named to the women’s all-conference second team, while both were named to the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference all-conference teams.
Hurt was the second-leading scorer in conference play at 22.3 points per game, shooting 41.6 percent from the field and 44.6 percent from beyond the 3-point line. He also is the second-leading scorer in the nation at 25.5 points per game.

Since I've had someone ask, Memphis is not actively recruiting junior college point guard Jerry Hurt.

I know that Esposito follows Hurt and Adarius Avery, for whatever that is worth.

I hope he doesn't think a Twitter follow = recruiting.
