Since then both Clemson and FSU have made the necessary corrections and have once again shouldered the load and brought the level of respect up in the ACC. If Clemson and FSU were to fall off the map next season who steps up? Which one of the teams listed above do you feel comfortable right now saying is capable of carrying the football load for the conference the way FSU and Clemson have for the past five years?
Virginia Tech.

Based on what?

Yeah, certainly not on the first half of the 2016 Belk Bowl...

VT has already demonstrated the ability to string together a decade of 10+ win seasons, so it isn't a question of CAN they, but WILL they do it again?

Welcome to the board Charm City Tiger!

Thanks for the welcome! Glad I finally found an ACC board and best of luck to everyone during the bowl season

To answer Kap:

Fuente has infused Virginia Tech with something it lacked in the final years under Beamer - a modern offense. When you've got Bud Foster on the defensive side of the ball, you know you'll have a solid squad there and now the offense is picking up.

Remember, this was a VT team that struggled to stay .500 the last few years, and Fuente took these same guys and took them to the ACC Championship in Year 1 (even giving Clemson a scare there).

With this upcoming recruiting class we're starting to see a slight uptick, and depending on the final tally could end up as a borderline top 15 class.
