Guys are going to be tired when you are really only playing 6.

If he keeps it this way, Tubby is going to run his starters into the ground and there will be injuries / fatigue as the season wears on.

May see slow fade to end the year if the rotation doesn't expand.

Wasn't that fast pace of a game, much easier than at OU....maybe Clergeot gets more of a look but he would have had trouble getting shots off .....I'm good with the lineup...Pastner would have had 9 guys running around trying to figure out what to do...

You do realize Memphis was 15/21 (71%) from the line, while SMU was 11/19 (58%). I don't think free throws were an issue for you tonight.

If they hit 71% and it is a bigger win for them.

It is the 38% shooting from field which was the different and the 18 rebound advantage for them.

I don't think it was clock management as much as it was having good enough players to make plays against a really good defensive team

Not running any type of offense more like it. Too much standing around waiting for someone else to make a play.

I agree. This is a team with a lot of seniors, and they have played together gor a while.
Some big dudes too.
Offensive rebounding was bad, especially in first half.
Too many missed three's; when are we gonna get a 3 pt shooter?

Deceptive stats. I think 5 of those were front end 1-1. That's 10 pts if we make them. And when a team has other weaknesses, FTs can get a few wins that are otherwise lost. And yes, rebounding was weak. But for all the world to see, we were not the most talented team on the floor either. SMU is super long across the board, virtually all their guys can shoot the 3, they rebound & defend.

Need to add, I liked the effort, our guys want to compete.

We played in the half court all game against a superior defensive team that also crashed the boards. We ran offense.

This team is undermanned, plays hard, and continues to improve. I will take a Tubby coached team everyday of the week over a Pastner one.
