We closed out very well on offense & rebounding. Dukes up 83-70 with 30 seconds left.

BJK is sleeping in the car. I'm catching the second half. Dukes down 9.

I actually think that the renovated DAC is better than Hagan Arena, and they're still not finished with the DAC. Hagan is OK and they did a nice job with the renovation, but there are way too many bleacher seats, and it's too cramped. The DAC has room for some more seats, if needed, but there's no reason for it to hold more than 2,500 right now.

I'm telling you guys, Coach O is going to make us proud. Meet the guy one time, have a little one-on-one with him, and you will be impressed. He needs another "Lady Okafor" and a Nikki Newman/Jazmon Gwalthmey type and this team will be knocking down W's in bunches. The team is 6 - 4 right now but look at who the losses were to, Tennessee, FL State, Iowa, and St. John's. We need to stay with this team.

So yeah, we're going to call that "lesson learned" on drinking too many 10%+ ABV beers. Let's just say I will not be making an overimbibing mistake like that in Frisco.

agreed - I'm hoping his "Lady O" is uva transfer Ferguson. at 6'4 she is easily our tallest player with a great pedigree/experience.

RE: WBB vs St Joseph 12/28/16
Wife and I were at the game last night. Dukes dug themselves a big hole in the 1st quarter but clawed back to be down by 9 at the half. Coach Sean must have put the fear of God in them at half time as they came out and completely shut down SJU in the 3rd quarter allowing only 4 pts!!! Lexie (22 pts) and Kamiah had excellent games along with Anneah. P Hall scored 17 also. The Dukes D went up about 10 notches in the second half and they completely frustrated SJU and won by 13.

Big rootin sections for Kamiah and Devon at the game. Lots of cheering and high energy. One of the greatest high points of the game was when Haille was on a fast break to the hoop and kinda stumbled and tripped over herself but put the shot up and it went in for her first field goal of the season. Team went nuts congratulating her!!!

If Kamiah, Lexie and Anneah can continue to score like last night my fears of the teams offensive challenges may be mollified. Dee Dee was not at the game last night, anyone have any idea what is up with her? With both Kayla and Dee Dee out the team has serious rebounding and defensive issues in the paint. Tasia played well but Dee Dee not being there puts a serious crimp in the front line. Savannah was at the game in sweats and was off her crutches so that is encouraging.

See everyone at the Convo on Saturday!!

Brian

Well that sure bites. Wonder if it is academic issues?

Whatever it is hope it gets resolved soon.

DD has left the team to "pursue other opportunities"
unclear of what that means...she only has one semester left of eligibility so doubt it's a transfer. either way, a huge loss for us. hope this was a monster opportunity for her

Thanks for the info.

Man that is a real blow to the team especially with Kayla out this season.

Team is going to have to work real hard on the front line now. Sounds like
Tasia, Amber, Devon and Savannah will be getting lots of time.

Go Dukes!!

I rented that game a number of times on the Sega Genesis. It's especially awesome if you do the Smooth Criminal "lean" - it kills a lot of bad guys.

I chatted up a girl who was playing it. She had no idea about it either. It was pretty entertaining to watch, but not worthy of any of my precious tokens that night.

RE: WBB vs St Joseph 12/28/16
So me & BJK are going up to Philly to support Dukes (WBB...or is it WWB?) as is custom. Figured I should review this thread for what not to do pregame, as discovered last year for the St. Joe's game.

WHO ELSE IS COMING TO TAKE ON THE LLAMADRAGONS?
