UAB?

Jeezus.

There will not be a game this season in which Memphis does not put out the best player on the court.

That goes a long way in basketball, especially college basketball.

If that "best" player is the PG, I agree. But a best player who is not a PG is only as good as the team to get him the ball at the right time & in the right locations. Not quite as simple & clear cut as you imply.

Good lord.

Read.

Fact: Memphis WILL have the best player on the floor in every game this year.

Some will say Caupain at Cincy. Others will say Brimah. Others have even said the guard for Monmouth.

So, yeah, it's debatable. I'll take Dedric personally. But, no, it's not a fact.

Well, Dedric is rated 8th in ESPN's PER and none of those guys are ranked higher, but I guess it's debatable overall.

Well, Jeremiah Martin and Markel Crawford aren't Yugos, amigo.

Both are works in progress, but both are pretty good overall.

Some folks think a coach can only win if he has 13 Mickey D's on the roster and NBA draft picks at every position.

Like you said above, it isn't always cut and dry.

You act like it's Dedric Lawson and 4 special ed guys out there.

That a big leap from my comment. Point is Dedric will be as good as the PG & Tubby's scheme will take him. But this is still a team sport & I imagine we can agree that once you get past Dedric & maybe KJ at times, our team is about like that of our better conference foes. And our outside shooting is below that of most of those same opponents.

It's not a must win, but it's a huge win if we don't win the conference. I haven't seen anything that doesn't make me think we can't do both (win this game and conference).

AAC bb is slaw this year. Tiger's should finish 4th or 5th right where they always do.

You may be right. It's been a while since I've been optimistic about Tiger Basketball. I am now.

The AAC will end up about where it usually does. Right now, Sagarin has the conference 6th. Behind the P5 + BEast. But ahead of the A10, MWC, and MVC. Straight RPI has us 7th - flipped with the A10. Maybe someone with a KenPom subscription can tell us how the conference does there. But not really slaw, IMO.

The top half is proving to be pretty tough. SMU, Cincy, Houston, Temple - even UCF. Tulane, ECU, USF kill us in RPI. We are mid-pack right now. Need to knock off a couple of those games at the top and take care of the bottom half.

Yup.

And unless Chad comes back semi-healthy and Azab gets cleared and a couple of guys step up their play, they won't have to worry about making the title game anyway.

RE: Next two games
It's on a rotation basis. 2016 was in Orlando, and Orlando had the bid to the 2017 AAC Tournament as well, until the NCAA gave Orlando a first weekend host bid for 2017. So the conference moved it to Hartford for 2017 and gave 2018 to Orlando.

We'll see how the sites are awarded after these two seasons.
