RE: *Updated: Breaking HOD News!!!!*
The Heart of Dallas Bowl is our last one of the season.

Here is the layout for the game. North Texas will again be on the visitors side, while Army will have the home side. This year they are not selling tickets in the upper deck, or in one of the end zones. With that said, it appears Army is bringing a large crowd. After looking at the available tickets, Army appears to have filled most of their seats! By my estimation, Army has filled all of the home side except for about 1,500 seats. That's really good. UNVL didn't even bring 3K when we played them. 04-rock

You might be thinking Army is going to really have a home field advantage right in the heart of North Texas, but not so fast... North Texas has filled all of their seats on the visitors side, except 7. That's right. Here on Christmas Day, two days before the HOD, there are only 7 seats available on the Mean Green's side of the field. 04-jawdrop

General admission is located in the end zone and I have no idea how many of those tickets are still available. But it looks like North Texas will again outnumber our opponent in this bowl (though not by much), and we still have a good chance of setting a new attendance record for the HOD.

I want to give Army lots of credit for bringing their fans. Hope all C-USA fans get to watch this one. It should be fun to see on TV.

Here is a link to the HOD interactive ticket page where you can see the available seating.

A packed stadium is bad for parking but great for the game.

I am pumped.

you could always take the DART trains from various spots around the city, depending on where you are staying. 5 bucks for an all day pass

https://www.dart.org/schedules/schedules.asp

many north texas fans are taking the train from denton or other spots along I35 and the plano/addison area. the green line stops right at fair park (cotton bowl)

Just like last time, there will be many NT fans on the Army side. I doubt Army brings a large contingent but it would be cool if they did.

Army will be well represented and casual fans will be there to support Army, so I expect Army will have at least 20k.

Army will bring out more casual fans and veterans from Dallas plus soldiers from Ft. Hood. The Armed Forces Bowl has more community support (from the locals in Ft. Worth (TCU fans) than the HOD bowl but I wouldn't be surprise with 30k UNT and 20-25k Army fans

This is the way I see it too. Army is going to have a large crowd. I know North Texas fans are buying some tickets on the home side, but most on the home side are being purchased by Army fans. I believe we will have over 45K. Maybe as many as 55K. If the HOD opens up seats in the upper deck, then we know it is going to be one of the highest attended non-New Years Day bowl games.

The claim was that no team participating in a bowl via APR exemption has lost. There have been a few teams through history that have played in a bowl due to conference championship (such as North Texas winning the Sun Belt in 2001).

If you go back to the dawn of time, when teams were actually invited, SMU got an invitation at 4-6, although they were at 4-4 when the invitation was extended and accepted. Very rare in the days when a lot of 8-2 and 7-3 teams sat home.
