You should be able to pack out the stadium for that game! 30,000 no problem. Vanderbilt travelled well to WKU, we had record attendance last year.

Were you at the Vandy game? It was a pathetic showing by Vandy fans, especially considering the proximity. I had low expectations because of their reputation as a horrible traveling fan base and they still left me unimpressed.

Yeah they had maybe 500 fans there.

That's pretty typical for Vandy. They love to criticize others for attendance but don't travel off West End to anywhere nor are they capable of recognizing their stadium is usually at least 50% from the opposing school.

But don't expect anything near a sellout. We assured that with another bowl game fans can't go to and a fan base that has all but cashed in their chips and went home. A blowout loss helped cement that.

Well, considering Vanderbilt is a private school with a 12% acceptance rate, an undergraduate enrollment of less than 7K, and a graduate enrollment of less than 6K, it's not surprising they don't travel well, nor is it surprising their home crowds aren't bigger than they are.

They average over 31K at home btw, and even if that's paid tickets and not actual butts in seats, it's still not bad considering it's over twice the enrollment at the school, and most of the people who enroll at a school like Vanderbilt frankly don't do so for the football and athletics, and are there rather for Vanderbilt's academic reputation and the value of the degree.

Army comes to North Texas for "Round 3" next season.

Our annual home and home series with Army runs through 2021, but If tomorrows game is entertaining, maybe it will get extended.

I saw that horrible Vandy game today, and one thing kept going thru my mind over and over again: How in the HELL did WKU lose to these Vandy clowns? That's gotta be one of the biggest puzzles of the entire CUSA football season, because Vandy is a bad football team.

.
WKU had 496 total yards, to Vandy's 389, but if I recall correctly we had 3 turnovers on the Vandy end. Two were in the red zone. The Toppers dominated 3/4 of the game but lost in OT on a failed 2 point attempt. Would love to have that one back. 03-weeping

We played them in hoops at Bridgestone in downtown Nashville a few years ago. 8,000 MT fans maybe they had 500-600 at a max. They had a few last year when we played them at home in FB but not many. Hurricane kept the attendance down. Who knows what next year will look like.

That was the only home game I missed because we were out of town. I made an incorrect assumption that because I can rarely find 16,000 dedicated WKU fans on any given gameday that Vanderbilt brought a lot of fans to fill the seats for that record-attendance day. I guess WKU just has a lot of SEC fans in the area. That kind of pisses me off. You can make it out to a Vanderbilt game but you can't go to any other games that year. Screw this community.

Either way, if MTSU has fans like WKU has "fans", then maybe you'll still see a record attendance or a near full stadium.

You mean we had 10k casual fans show up for game as WKU fans because we were playing a "name team"....Vandy brought hardly anyone...

I was looking through Army's future schedules and I noticed all the North Texas games.

Do you know why we play such a long series? I am fine with it. Just wondering.

UTSA plays at Baylor...

Another note is that UTSA will play all of their OOC in Texas. Hosting Houston and Southern Jaguars and playing at Baylor and Texas State.
