Bad year in football, I thought basketball was unlucky but still enjoyable and I love this season's team.

Basketball, Fickell, and Pinto have brightened the year a little bit.

Other than that, it was awful. If you're like me, you also have to mention the Bengals playoff loss and the USMNT losing to Mexico in Columbus.

Not getting into the B12 was a big downer. That has far longer reaching implications than any of the other items on the list. The fact that we got rid of a used car salesman football coach made the year better for me. I attended UC beginning in 1986 so I don't get too worked up overall about bad years in sports relatively speaking. Time for another glass of vino...

It was a tough year when viewed through the lens of some great success the past decade or so. 2017 looks brighter with a promising basketball team, new leadership in football and a President who has deep UC connections. The Big 12 was a punch in the stomach, particularly the way they handled the process. I wouldn't rule out conference realignment among the P5 in the next 12-18 months and it may very well lead UC back to the Big 12 or some variation of it...for better or worse.

I don't know...I'd say the year President Zimpher shut down the MBB program ranks as the worst year ever for UC Sports.
