If you remember, there were a couple of tripping incidents last year. What would you do with this guy? He is way too good of a player to be pulling crap like this.

There is already a mechanism for handling this sort of thing: ejection. Maybe if the referees had ejected him each time he did this, he wouldn't have had to be suspended.

The most disturbing part of that to me is Allen's reaction on the bench. It looks as if this kid has some serious mental health issues. I wonder if K will make professional counseling a condition of his return to the team.

Yes, most of the time fans would be joking, but I think he truly needs a mental health evaluation. The repeated odd behavior and outburst last night is unsettling from a 21 one year old.

His antics remind me of a spoiled bratty kid when he cant get his way he has a meltdown. Its the same way you see little bratty kids behave in the supermarket when their parents tell them no. Only he's 21 instead of 5. His parents must be embarrased, hopefully.

I say give the kid a break. Duke is a cut above the other schools both in coaching and the type of players in the program. It's not like the coach curses like a sailor in front of children and the players chest stomp the other team. This is just an isolated incident involving a nice kid with no problems previously.

There is a theory on the CR board that, since he wasn't charged with a crime, the school should take no action.

My hope is that, as others have noted, he gets the help he needs. I hope they don't kick him off the team and leave it to another school to deal with

Duke needs to kick him out of the University!

The temper tantrum means he needs some counseling while he's out.

Allen is a throwback to the 1970's ACC of Kenny Denard, Jim Spanarkle, Tommy LaGuard, Mitch Kupchek, etc. Duke and UNC in particular used enforcers back then and they would fight at a drop of a hat - it made good entertainment.
Allen pulled that crap on NC State last year IIRC, might have been the year before - 40 years ago someone would have knocked his teeth out near the free throw line.

Highly doubtful. He's 21 and still acts like this so I imagine that they contributed to the problem by enabling him his entire life.

I was thinking the same thing. If he keeps it up he'll eventually run into someone who is a throwback player and eat a fist or two. Probably be the best thing to ever happen to him.

Well He hasn't punched a woman and knocked her out in a resturant yet so I guess he shouldn't get thrown off team if that Oklahoma clown didn't get expelled.
