We should have a digital distribution for all our games and let any streaming service that wants them air them for the cost of production. No exclusivity at all, so if a game gets picked up by 5 streams then you get 5 times the money it takes to air it. If at least one airs it, then it pays for itself. Since live sports is the main thing you lose when cord cutting, this is a market of new fans we could own and, if our providing sports to cord cutters leads to more cord cutting, we've given the networks a reason to pay us more to come back.

Just an idea.

I have been saying for years that we should just give the rights to YouTube or Netflix for the cost of production. The publicity from a deal with either of those two would be worth the pennies we would lose from ESPN, etc.

It's an intriguing idea and would give the fan who can't make many games access on all games.

It also helps build up name/brand recognition. The new generation of fans are cord cutters. They know Netflix and Youtube (as well as Twitter, Facebook, etc, but those groups don't have the streaming infrastructure in place). Of course to do anything like that you would need forward thinking leadership. Instead our commish rides a power wheels to a retirement home.

Why don't we have member schools produce themselves and rake in ad revenue on YouTube? It may only be a few thousand viewers each week, but you'd probably make more off that than our current tv deal.

WKU has got the chops to do that, but I don't know about everyone else

Southern Miss has the fans to make it successful, but I don't think we have the administration willing to try it. The problem is that it would take the Presidents voting to do it and old men/women don't go for new ideas easily.

A free app on the Roku, Firestick etc would be huge as well.

I would love to see us add a free CUSA Sports Channel on Netflix.

As you guys have said, we would draw in massive amounts of casual viewers as we would be the only live sports available for most of them.

That's actually a great idea. I d like to see more of us under appreciated guys start looking into this route. An app on Roku or which ever streaming device will be good as well.

We had a really good wrestling dual with #10NCState last night...a CUSA ROKU channel could have carried a feed and the whole world could have seen the event.
There is a 10 minute break in dual matches which would play great for commercials and canned TV features.
The friggin CAA has a ROKU channel, which carries lots of games from their conference, we should have the same thing.

West Liberty University, the D2 school I follow, has a better media deal than CUSA.

That's no exaggeration either. ALL of their games are broadcast locally to over 250,000 homes. Played in all the local sports bars, and all of their games are available for free online on their website. They sell their own commercials and such.

They also have a few games on ASN, Root Sports, and CBS College Sports.

Unbelievable.
