UCF has one big season two years ago and thinks they are world beaters. Try not having two winless seasons in a 10 year span and come back to the big boy table to talk to the grown-ups.

RE: Arkansas State to join AAC
Just noticed that A-State also has SMU scheduled, along with Memphis and Tulsa. Sorry, but like most fans of college football I sometimes have to stop and think which conference a school is in, even some P5's.

I think most people really know about schools , not conferences anyway. When people hear Boise, or Houston, they think of good football, Indiana, Kentucky, Kansas, Vanderbilt, not so good football.

Glad to see they, and Tulsa, have scheduled the Red Wolves in football.

It's a huge mistake. No point in scheduling a team that draws no interest, won't sell tickets,or improve our ranking.

and can beat you.

Houston wants a game with the BONGhorns

Actually we need games against the Arkansas States of the world. They go well with our 1 non-conference game against a top tier school. Have 1 big game, then have a few that are easier wins. If Ark State is as good in 2018 as they were this year then they'll be a nice pad to our resume. We actually play Arkansas State and Central Arkansas (and Texas) in 2018. Idk about playing Central though because aren't they FCS?

yes UCA is a FCS school and they beat ASU who is a FBS school. Though we at ASU were extremely pissed about it it isn't like we are the first FBS team to ever lose a football game to a FCS school. Michigan did it when they lost to what was back then a FCS school named App State. And the Arkansas Razorbacks lost a game to the FCS Citadel. **** happens. All you can do is live with it and move on.

I dare say this years UCA team would likely beat 3-4 teams in the AAC. They were that good.

Central is the 2nd best team in Arkansas

Yes it is

Charlie Strong graduated from Central Arkansas too.

Arkansas State is the third best in Arkansas. Can you even imagine being Arkansas 3rd best anything?

.
I'd pay uconn a double share to keep ark state out.

Let that sink in

That's understandable. With the fear you have of ASU I understand you not wanting to play them every year in conference.

Didn't we beat your ass our last year playing you with a 4 win team?
You guys are 2-4 in the last ten years against Arkansas State. Don't pat yourself on the back too hard.

Yay! You can beat a Larry Porter coached team that won something like 1 game his entire tenure. Things would not have been pretty if we would have played the last 3 years. It's a dumb non-conference game to play, but I believe it may be coming back?

P7 stickers are on order. I hear expansion to P10 is possible.

Having lived out there, from an academic perspective for the public institutions, it was Arkansas, UALR, and Arkansas Tech as the Top 3. State was for kids in that area of the state who couldn't get into the others or were staying home and in Hot Springs, where I lived, the kids considered it about the same as Henderson State or UCA or something like Arkansas-Fort Smith.

I told my daughter she could look at Arkansas state if she failed to get into Arkansas or Northwest Arkansas Community College.

Thankfully, she is going to Arkansas next year.
