RE: WKU and ODU
I think most ODU fans would agree we still haven't proven anything yet. I think we are more of a match institutionally than it might suggest at first glance if you take all the AAC schools and put all the "stats" side by side in a blind taste test I think we'd fit in nicely. But we're way too new and our bball is still healing from derailed BT era.

WKU just lost thier coach---sometimes that makes a big difference. Sometimes not. Only time will tell.

They've strung a nice group of coaches together .. .

Willie Taggart -- now at Oregon
Bobby Petrino -- U of L
Jeff Brohm -- Purdue

Mike Sanford .... can he keep the momentum going? I don't see why not.

RE: WKU and ODU
WKU doesn't have the market for the AAC. The athletic program is strong across the board but we've reached our ceiling as far as conferences go. I don't believe the MAC is something that would appeal to the WKU fanbase. We're southern facing culturally, not northern.

WKU and ODU
Agree with Wilkie and I'm not trolling. I would love to ser WKU and ODU in the AAC if two spots came open.

ODU is scheduling ACC schools at home. It is not very likely you see G5 schools outside of MWC and AAC that any P5 would schedule a home/home with. Since not all the ACC schools could play Virginia/Virginia Tech every year, they go to the next best thing with Old Dominion. ESPN is saying that Virginia is producing prospects in football as well especially in the Norfolk area. I say yes to ODU in front of the pack.

Yeah....... Toledo has a one for one with Miami(FL) starting in 2017. So once again your logic is flawed

In theory, adding UConn, UMass, Temple, and Cincy would be great but the expansion schools are the ones that have all the value and right now the American is a better fit for them, save UMass who would love to be in the American but the feeling is not exactly mutual.

The MAC is not looking to expand for the sake of expansion, and certainly not in terms of "we want to get into this region, but with what school?" ...
... but if the "right school" asked, that would define the region that the move would go.

But the "right school" would almost always be a school that wouldn't come knocking, asking to join the MAC. It's the same old story ... the list of schools that would consider joining a conference and the list of schools that would upgrade the conference (in the eyes of the schools in the conference) are two different lists without any overlap.

The scenario where UConn moves to the Big East despite losing a spot in the AAC for their Football, and comes knocking, that's among the more plausible that could be put out there, and it'd still be very, very long odds against it happening.
Not happening with UConn, even if UMass was still around. To big of a flight risk for Football only.

Come with all sports and a travel partner, then the MAC would at least take the phone call.....
