Embarrassing
I cannot beleive our lack of defense. So disappointing to see this on national TV but then again most have quit viewing due to the score.

Just wait until Navy embarrasses us for the third time in a row next year and the defense looks like it has no clue.

RE: Embarrassing
You really shouldn't be that shocked. Our defense has been bad the last two years. We could have taken better care of the ball tonight, but you're not gonna win many games you give up 600 yards total offense. If our program is gonna take the next step, our defense must improve.

Our DL just could not keep their OL off our LBs. First contact was three to four yards out side of the line on most plays.

Tulsa, Ole Miss, Navy, USF, Temple (I realize we won that), Houston, all lit us up.....Shouldn't be surprising. I'd bet Western Kentucky could finish in top half of our league.

No doubt. They may have even won it.

RE: Embarrassing
Er...wrong.

The AAC is stronger than those other leagues. That is a completely different point than a whiny over reaction to this singular poor effort and loss.

***** about a poor bowl game performance, it happens, but would cool jets about extrapolating more than WKY outplayed Memphis tonight.

We are no better than CUSA, Mountain West, MAC or the Sun Belt

It's all the same

Houston curbstomped by a Mountain West team

UCF slapped around by a Sun Belt team

Memphis absolutely embarrassed by a CUSA team

Navy will get punked by another CUSA team

Last year was the same thing from the AAC

Time to stop looking down our noses at other G-5 leagues

We are on par with the rest

That isn't even remotely true.

Houston lost their entire coaching staff basically and lost the MW Champ even though Houston was the AAC #5.

UCF still sucks and hasn't beaten a team with a winning record all year. Is it really a surprise they lost to the Sunbelt's Co-Champion?

Memphis has no defense and teams like Tulsa and WKU will throttle us regardless of conference.

Navy is on its 15th starting QB this season so it wouldn't really be fair to judge them based on their bowl game since they aren't the same team.

Last year was bad, but the AAC has such disproportionate bowl matchups that it is to be expected. We have played three other G4 conference's champions so far with our #4, #5, and #7 teams... That is like ACC #7 Georgia Tech having to play SEC #1 Alabama.

Fair point. On the other hand, it's ok to expect better and to be frustrated watching a team walk right through the defense.

Hope the beach was fun! We clearly didn't go to Boca Raton to play football.

Bowls like the 'Boca Raton' accomplish 2 things:

1) Many valuable practice sessions.
2) Provide a reward for the team.

That is all.

Agree they accomplish that. Also provides the most important moment for us nationally (more people see it than our game vs Temple, etc). Important for image i.e. recruiting. There is no positive that comes with a loss IMO. Appreciate your positive spin, but it's a loss.

you think more people saw our game last night than the Houston one? If so, when is our invite to the Big 10?

Exactly. Nobody cares about the Boca Raton Bowl except for the fans of the teams playing.

The way bowl games are trending, you'll start seeing more and more of this. Players treating them like glorified vacations...can't say I blame them. They're exhibitions. The NFL-bound kids won't even think about playing in the non-elite bowls in 3-5 years.

Unless you are in the playoffs it really don't matter
