BRONCOS WIN!!!!!

I have watched the entire game... and in no way did I think we were outplayed... both teams were playing a suffocating defense... WMU's defense was impressive... killing a long 5-3 power play... most of a major in OT.... and all others... WMU seemed to have control of the puck for a majority of the time 5 on 5... just couldn't seem to generate any good shots on goal... MTU was playing really solid in front of its own goalie... Really impressed with the MTU team...

Watched the whole game. Flush is right, we looked like the better team and we were. Had at least twice the scoring chances that MTU had. MTU defense and goaltending is very impressive. Refs didn't have a great game, completely blowing 3 calls, but that happens. In the end we were not to be denied. I think this kind of persevering win can really help the team's confidence going forward. Had to be pretty nerve racking for the players so the next big game that is tied down the stretch they can possibly pull from this experience.

I have some thoughts on the GLI, as Mitten as a sporting event gets--

Is it profitable? Attendance has been brutal for years and success is usually determined with how good scUM is, and they've been down for years. I wonder if this is a charitable social event by Tech or its booster club/alumni association to have a party in Detroit. I'm sure the TV money from Fox Sports Detroit helps, but the ratings for the GLI has to be beyond minuscule.

It's time to break up the MSU-UM split for the first round. It used to be like that so they could cash in on the two schools making the title game every year. Let Tech pick its opponent every few years.

Fleming's got 3 majors in 3 games. Dude needs to dial it down a notch.

Very disappointed in Flemmings play lately, 2 of the last 3 games he has taken very selfish penalties that would have cost the team two wins if not for the great penalty kills. He is suspended for the next game by the league against Denver i think and the team should suspend him for the game after that to drive the point across. It will kill us in the long run if it continues

I just love the way this goes. The tournament only infrequently invites the Broncos to the event. The last two times we've been there we beat the Big Ten team and then beat Tech 1 - 0 in OT to win the thing.

Probably be a few more years until they invite us back.

The GLI Wiki page says we've been in 5 tourneys winning 3 and runner up once. Finished 4th in 1977 which was, I believe, the Broncos 2nd season of hockey.
I'd love to get in next years at the new arena.

I think they said that is the case at the end of the broadcast. I'm going to the Wings game the 22nd and plan on getting some pictures of the banner hanging there.

My question is: When will the next few years of the GLI's fourth team be announced?

Any ideas who they'd invite?

Bowling Green is slated for 2017. Haven't seen anything after that.

They've been announcing them 365 days at a time since they decided to go local.
