Shy O/T: What's Wrong with MSU Athletics (this year)?
Sparty suffered through a bad season on the gridiron and MBB is struggling playing a very difficult schedule.

Today the Spartans lost at home to Northeastern.

This might have been the year to play them.

Hm one more season of poor football and the revenues will be negatively effected. Izzo has a solid following one sub par year will not effect it too much. Lots of young frosh and injuries for MSU.

And Izzo has apologized to his team for 'over scheduling'.

Nothing to see here. MSU really missed their QB Connor Cook. Still plenty of talent. The basketball team will continue to improve and Izzo will have them in the tournament. When you lose Valentine, Forbes, Davis, Costello, it takes time to gel. Don't worry the Spartans will be back!

I'm not as confident about football.

If I'm following BobW correctly, and the lesson for EMU, is that after Roback graduates we may face a 'crisis' at QB.

We have talked about the fine OL play and that is true, but sometimes Roback reminds me of a MAC (collegiate) version of Matthew Stafford.

When I see a QB throw a 50 yard strike in the end zone to win the game, I think of Stafford, Rogers, etc. (We'll see Rush this afternoon and he does not have Roback's arm).

Honestly I think we'll be fine after Porter and Roback graduate at QB.

And MSU's problems on the football field (and off) are bigger than just the QB position.
