Exclamation Game Week: @ 'Cuse and Marygrove
after a leisurely first half of December (due to scheduling problems), the MBB schedule picks up steam.

@Syracuse and then home to Marygrove this week and Long Beach State at home the following week.

Okay, it is game day. This game will be on television. Better than a (CMU) bowl game (Think that is what I meant).

We need to check on the status of Ty Toney who was hurt during the VT game.

Doesn't look like Toney is warming up. Not sure if this is precautionary and he'all have limited minutes, or if he's not playing tonight.

Doesn't look good. That would be my guess.

If he has a 'sprain' then it can be grade 1, 2 or 3.

If it is grade 2 or 3, he sits. Wonder if he'd even dress if we were in the Convo???

If Ty can't play it becomes extremely imperative for Lee, Mangum, and Bond to stay out of foul trouble. We are always 1 player away from losing the depth.

I didn't hear. Did Murphy indicate how bad Toney's knee is?

Gonna be a long night. Boeheim has only been teaching the zone for 30 years. Knows exactly how to beat it.

Gotta keep running plays out of the high post if we want to stay in this game.

Brutal. Steele is just too slow in the middle of that zone. Thompson is too slow on the wing. It's just not working.

Would make zero difference with no semblance of an offensive system.

We are doing the right things offensively to beat the zone. Just not executing well at all.

So what's the adjustment? Play Thompson in the middle defensively and put Nobles on the wing?

Ideally. Thompson isn't very strong in the middle either, but he's better than Steele.

If it were a video game and we could play Bond-Nobles-Thompson-Mangum-Toney/Lee all game, we'd be fine.

Exactly we need someone to take charge just passing around the edge of the arc need guards to penetrate inside

So frustrating. We are getting into the middle of the zone with good looks and just not making shots.

Cuse is making everything. They look great.

We are a step slow everywhere. I know we'll see people call for switching to man-to-man, but there'd be no reason to expect different results. If you aren't closing out and keeping your man in front of you in the zone, why would it be expected in man-to-man?

Virtually nothing from Lee and Thompson, Mangum has more air balls than fg makes, and Cuse is hitting their jumpers. Perfect recipe for a blowout.
